Have played supreme commander , years ago fine on my computer, but it looks like my current computer cannot handle the game?

Anyone else experience this? Unfortunately microsoft forced this ♥♥♥♥ on me, but now it micro-freezes in the menus when I try to click something. Any fixes?

Both the base game AND FAF are affected by this. Every time the game wants to start playing any sort of dialogue during campaign missions, the game freezes for 1-5 seconds. None of the solutions I've seen online could fix it and I'm slowly losing my mind. =) Hardware is *not* an issue. Windows 11 might be though....

It used to be a great thing. As it is now, developers are completely incompetent: the real developers left long ago and what's left only add more bugs with every patch they release, not knowing the first thing about programming, and the moderation and community is, for the most part, just a bunch of mindless fascists. I just started playing and remember only having played the game once after it released. So before anyone says "get good", I know. What I want to know is if the AI at easy is actually easy? I just gave it a try and got attacked by an army within 4 minutes. I checked the replay and it looks like the enemy didn't need to worry about resources at all. It took them around 2 minutes to build the first mass extractor, but by then it already had 2 t1 land engineers and a couple of scouts with which they attacked ...
