Disclaimer: Most of my playtime is on GoG and not Steam.

Way better than Hearthstone and a lot more consumer friendly. After a few weeks of playing, you'll be swimming in resources to craft top-tier decks.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a very nice take on a classic RPG formula. They take a bit of the best (and worst) parts Diablo and Path of Exile. The Gate of Fates node/passive system looks promising enough at first glance - until you realize that a lot of the passives are bugged and don't really work as advertised.

The game is still fun though, even in endgame. Probably pick it up after a few months until the developers polish it up a bit, or if it goes on a deep sale.

DARKSIDERS: GENESIS
Darksiders: Genesis is a great re-imagining of a classic favorite. Moving away from the main line series’ third person perspective, Genesis instead focuses on isometric hack-and-slash action but still retains all the charm and feel of the originals

Gameplay
Few games have changed genres/perspectives while still retaining what made the originals special. Genesis is an exception. As mentioned earlier, the game feels so much like the previous games. War has most of his signature moves that involve giant blades erupting from the ground, various spins, stabs, slashes and whatnot. Strife on the other hand, is playable for the first time. What he doesn’t have in terms of melee prowess, he more than makes up for it with his ranged attacks. You find various ammo types for Strife’s guns along the way, ranging from beam attacks, electric shocks that jump across enemies, lava bolts that quickly ramp up in speed, or miniature black holes that pull enemies closer.

Combat is fun, quick and brutal. In solo play you’ll have a good time swapping between War and Strife, changing playstyles on the fly. In co-op, things become chaotic and fun to look at, but it never really gets too hard to follow.

Sounds & Visuals
The game definitely looks and sounds like Darksiders. The colorful pop of both environments and the characters really bring life into it. War and Strife are extremely well done with all their flashy moves and explosive abilities. The locations themselves are varied and always interesting to look at – whether you are rampaging through the depths of hell, wading through various sewer systems, or traversing snowy alps and other factories.

Music is also excellent, especially in the mixing. During exploration and downtime, the music is slower and much more subdued. When combat begins, the tempo quickly rises into a towering crescendo. At first it’s hard to notice the effect, but when it does happen it does make the combat scenarios grand.

Bugs and other annoyances
Although you can feel all the love that the developers put into the game, there are some issues. We encountered a lot of crashing issues during the initial launch period, but that was easily solved by updating our video drivers and setting the game to Fullscreen instead of Borderless Window mode. Another crash was constantly reproducible whenever we got defeated in a certain boss fight in the later chapters. There were also some bugs that impeded our progress. During one scripted encounter, enemies were supposed to automatically break free from their icy prisons. However the game randomly stopped spawning enemies which prevented us from moving through the level any further. A quick restart of the level resolved this, but it was annoying nonetheless.

Conclusion
Overall, I would still recommend Darksiders Genesis. A lot of love and care towards the source material has been put into this title. As long as the bugs can get ironed out, this should be a classic. The co-op gameplay is fun and addictive.

An amazing recreation of a beloved classic. Different enough to warrant a new game while staying true to it's roots.

ISLANDERS
Islanders is an extremely chill, minimalist city builder where you just need to focus on plopping down colorful buildings on an equally vibrant little island.

Gameplay
As mentioned earlier, Islanders is an extremely chill paced game. There are no time limits, enemies, natural disasters, man-made disasters (like traffic girlocks or island denizen unhappiness). Instead you are free to choose what kinds of buildings you can plop down into your randomly generated island. Points are awarded based on different synergies between buildings, and the better the synergy, the better the score. If you reach a certain score goal, you can leave your wonderfully created island and move on to a bigger one. Based on that premise, the game is very simple actually as there are no other side-goals or things to keep track of. Though the beauty (and hook) of this game will definitely be it's simplicity.

Because there is little to no pressure, the game can get extremely relaxing and very addicting. It is however best played in short bursts, lest the city building gets repetitive too quickly.

Sounds & Visuals
The game is very vibrant and has tons of big colorful highlights. The contrast between the shade of the buildings and most of the islands really makes things pop out and become quite catching. This is definitely a visual treat!

Another great thing is the soundtrack - it is quite zen and peaceful. Definitely something that you could use for meditation (or trying to get to sleep).

Conclusion
Overall, this is a highly recommended game from my end. Simple, yet addicting gameplay, colorful visuals and calming sounds are some key highlights. It is very well worth the price of admission. It can be something to de-stress after a long hard day at work, or after losing too many games of your favorite competitive multiplayer game.

Dead Space 2
An extremely terrifying blend of action and horror. Dead Space 2 does not disappoint if you want a haunting tale of regret, unsettling visuals, great gun play or sheer terror. Highly recommended.
