Huge improvement to the first part, really loved everything about it (except the unskippable cutscene for the hardest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss of the entire series)

The Negative thing first:

I really didn't like the combat, your normal attacks move your character forward, sometimes into the hitbox of other enemies or off cliffs. You can't dodge roll mid-air which would be really helpful against certain enemy types and their placement. Traps still damage you when you dodge roll trough.

BIG COMPLAINT: After you clear a room and move back in, the enemies instantaneously respawn, which is really unrewarding, so moving past them and not to fight them does the same thing (except you won't earn money from them, but you can get enough money from fishing anyways so you don't have to bother with that).

The enemies should only respawn when you hit a bell, bells are the checkpoints. (for example, like in dark souls)

I played on normal difficulty and the best combat strategy was to just face tank enemies and heal afterwards (after i reached mid game and had enough upgrades). It was not challenging, but that’s not a point I want to complain about because I didn't look for a hard game, but the combat movement didn't feel good (as i described in my first point).

Also the Companion System is kind of useless, I only used the Exploration Companions for more passive income.

The positive things:

Map is very nice, it marks every area where you still have something left to explore, that's really nice for completionists.
Graphics are awesome and very lovely; background music is great to listen to.
Story is nothing exceptional, it’s a bit to melodramatic with the over-the-top shaking text bubbles, I would only use such things when you REALLY want to make a point, but not in every other conversation.

Fazit
I play a lot of Metroidvania so I am always a bit harsh. The first 3 hours where frustrating to deal with because of the combat, which nearly made me quit, but when you have enough upgrades, it became more of a button mashing game (there are two types of game a like, permanently really challenging, or braindead games where you feel like a God and nothing can stop you). This was for sure number 2 after a certain point.

I took me about 7:10 to finish the game to 109% (I don’t want to bother myself with the last few collectables I am missing because I can’t find the map parts I missed). I read all texts and talked to nearly every npc.

For 12 € the game was Okay, I hope they improve the combat (smoothen it) if they ever plan to make another part of the series. I will not actively look forward to it, but if steam ever happens to recommend me the next part of this game series, I will buy and play it.

So far, really good game.

As of now i have no performance issues.

Most of the negative revies are perfomance related, wich is totally understandable and justified, the developers should not release a game in such a state.

There is nothing bad to say about this game.
