A nice little thriller/psychological horror game that focuses on the core value of horror - the atmosphere.

During the game, nothing too significant happens but the way it builds up tension and suspense is quite remarkable. I also liked the way the puzzles link with the story of the game and the graphics (they're actually really well suited to the style of the game!).

The ending was also good with a small twist to it. Some of the sounds gave me a slight shiver too which I think ties in with the fantastic atmosphere this game has to offer.

If you're looking for something long winded and jumpscarish, don't waste your time with this game. However, if you're a fan of indie games, horror, and not things screaming in the face of the player, I really would recommend it!

9/10

After getting to about the 3rd or 4th act in this game I can safely say, just stick to the first game if you're considering which one to purchase.

This game sticks to a very similar gameplay/ graphics style of the first which I love - as well as the overwhelmingly awesome levels of gore! The soundtrack is also a really cool concept to this game. It's as good as the first but not just copied and pasted from its predecessor - which I thought was great because it shows they're very capable of creating a good set of music to suit the games' atmosphere.

Then, there's the negatives...

This game's overall level design, contrary to the first game, is really not that great. There are horrible amounts of enemies in massive compounds of floors. That really isn't the worst part. Many of them have to quite literally be lured in by the everchanging (I'll get on to that later) character. It feels stupid to have to outsmart almost every enemy by bating them in so you can steal their weapon and fight off the rest of them, presuming you even succeed in doing so. Another huge problem with the massive floors is the god forsaken camera. If I had a Pound for the amount of times I would get shot from across the map without even being able to see my enemy... and of course, I would have to fight them ALL off again the next time around - which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the sheer amount of enemies.

Now, the story I'd imagine is somewhat interesting with the whole idea of the tape recordings. But, the fact is, if you thought the first games' story was hard to understand, have a go at understanding this one. This game has huge amounts of dialogue that I try my best to read. But that's not the problem...
This game changes character almost every level, allowing for lots of different styles of play, granted, but also a hugely complicated storyline that ultimately makes little sense to what I'd imagine to be quite a lot of people. You can see for yourself the backstories of all these people if you so wish.

Also, in my opinion, the mask system is abysmal compared to the first. Some masks are somewhat overpowered. Others are completely and utterly useless and very frustrating to use. Most of them only allow you to use a couple of weapons or none at all out of the 4 i've seen so far - which really isn't good because I like variety and flexibility in Hotline Miami - it's argubly a huge aspect to the game.

Overall, I would not recommend this game until after you have thoroughly played through the first - which is one of my favourite games on steam.

6/10 - like Marmite with cool music

Also, WHERE THE HELL IS THE LEVEL EDITOR??

The only reason why you should give this game the time of day is the black guy...

...Oh, and the co-op

Attempted to socialise with another organism by singing to it. Was getting quite friendly until the bar suddenly dropped straight down. In my frustration, I killed it and devoured it's body.

Not bad. Not bad.

I've always loved this game. Even from my XBOX 360 days till now. Arguably the best execution of a Hitman game ever!
I bought this game on pc just to show truly how much love I have for this game. The level designs, the decent though not amazing graphics and the gameplay is brilliant. Though, I have to admit this game's graphics and combat system are not as good as Absolution but in my opinion it is overall a better made game.
The levels have good contrast and are anything from being on a ferry to a redneck wedding, all using that same loveable 'win how you want' playstyle which Absolution tended to lack in.
If you're looking for a great story with brilliant gameplay do not opt for this game. Instead, opt for Absolution. But if you want choice, freedom and personality buy this game now!

I will leave you guys to read the synopsis yourselves rather than going over the same thing various descriptions have said. So I will jump right into my review of the game:

Spec Ops: The Line is a 3rd person shooter based upon the post apocalyptic ruins of Dubai. It follows a squad of 3 Deltaforce soldiers on a rescue mission into the vast yet empty city - or is it?

After completing this game within the space of 24 hours it is hard not to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline of this game. Everything about this game is spectacular. The storyline (though dark and gritty at times juxtaposing to the vibrance of the desert atmosphere) the graphics. Wow, the graphics. This game was great for its time. Although it was only 2 years ago, it looks next generation - plain and simple. And the action side of it was amazing too. With many different weapons to choose from in combat with a pretty good melee and execution system. Though my only gripe would be being stuck in a firefight with no ammo and having to beat the crap out of a dude with your fists in the middle of a gunfight. But it adds a sense of realism to the game given the fact it is based heavily off of the feral survivors of the sandstorm upon Dubai, meaning ammo and any resources would be scarce.

The story goes on and the game becomes all the more dark and almost scary as it progresses. It affects the protagonists (though the player is the main one) begin to experience the horrors of war, which is realistic to war heroes in real life. I think it was a completely justified move for the writers to do this in the campaign, as we do not often see many war games such as Call Of Duty or Battlefield experimenting with this, but rather just mindless killing on the field without the after effects of the people who kill. Though they're good at what they do.

I am yet to try any multiplayer modes/ DLC but if they are anywhere as good as the campaign was it won't be long before I am gearing up for the streets (or rather skyscrapers) of Dubai once more.

Overall, this game is a great experience for anybody in the mood for a third person war game with a twist.

10/10 - a fairly Linear 3rd person playstyle spiced up with an epic storyline. Perfect for anybody who likes Gameplay and/or Graphics and/or Story.

Would play again!!!
