Bugs, Bugs, Bugs. A fun game gets a bit repetitive but its just a mindless fun shooter. Though it does crash ALOT. Furthermore when joining multiplayer lobbies you can run into a bug where you cant add strategums whatsoever. Leading you to have to leave so many lobbies. Still needs some patches

Whoever thought up this UI should be shot. The original had very intitiutive and easy to find tabs. This one is unneedlessly complex and useless. Whoever thought this was something that need to be changed is an idiot. It completely draws out the game and finding info is supposed to be easier but is in fact annoyingly to find. Battles look better but thats it. I delayed in buying it as Rome 2 filled that niche but wow complete disappointment. Should of known once I saw a no name dev farmed out here. Sega is just getting lazier and lazier as the series goes on. This shows it

Disappointing and Souless. L4D2 is still better in every way. Gameplay and story wise this game is so linear and dare i say mindless. Cookie cutter characters and too big a focus on customiing weapons and just killing hordes. Too much a focus on spectacle and killing hundreds of zombies instead of any sort of story. Looks beautiful but so darn empty.

Update: 2/10/2022

After having computer issues and not playing the game for over 8 months im changing my rieview a bit. ALot of the grind fixes were changed and i now see there is a better balanced mix of earning money and costs. Its less of a grind and more fun. Also better UI and management of the minions were added making them have more personality. The developer really seems to take what the community wanted and improved it. I give them credit for that. Game is far from perfect but it is now quite enjoyable time sink. Though it does still kinda feel like everything is on autopiliot a bit on normal diffculty.

But its still a negative. Why? DRM and the worst one possible Denuevo. The game will pull data from your computer and send it out. Even worse it will eventually have errors and prevent you from playing the game you paid for. I presently have a code pasting error BS i keep having to do and its not working. Never buying anything ever from REBELLION again. These are teh deveilpers from that piss poor zombie Mobile game.

Absolutely adore the series and even have the first Evil Genius on disc. Loved the music, which won awards for score btw. The first game was a tongue in cheek shoutout to the old bond movies and Dr. Evil from the Austin Power Movies. But this....this sequel game is such a buggy mess, i cant even recommend it in this state. Graphically better but the UI is a mess. Gone are the simple steps of being able to place items from a simple dropdown. Now multiple clicks to place an item in a room. Decorative items give no benefits. Zones of influence for loot items are bugged. DLC require a completely new game in order to work You can tell this was a rush job. And season passes for what is by essence a base building game.

This really feels like just a mobile game port to PC then a true PC experience. As the game goes from you being Pro active on the world map to now Reactive. Before you can send as many minions as you like to steal funds on the world map. Doing so would raise heat overall from the alliance you stealing from. Then you would hide if the secret agent was about. But now.....you set up networks and get passive income. Which is nice in which it automates funds but this then leads you to always looking on the world map....setting heat cooldowns. Because of that, losing minions are just worthless. Before everytime i lost a high level minion like a biochemist hurt as the training took so long. but now their so bland and the training so quick and the recruitment high.....im like what the point. The game is also now a money grind. Your vault can only hold so much yet alot of items will burn through that as most are $55K while your vault is only like 60K. No penalty really if you dont pay your minions. Int he first game, Getting and filling your lair with loot was a huge draw, with funny radio news announcements showcasing your recent heist. Here there are barely any really good loot items and to get them now is a slog of 4 missions to try fill time.

Early Access Review
The community is great. Always willing to help new players like myself but be prepared to wait for teams in the 3rd pary discord server just to matchmake. There is no lobby or in game steam matching. I have no idea why the Devs still have not added it despite this being over a freaking year. I doubt they will and that is why this game is still a no for me. So much promise but the whole point of this game was the multiplayer and team aspect.

I still find it fun and you can play the game without micro transcations but you do kinda have to try to get the robots as they will gather your supplies. Also, there are hidden unknown endurance and strength stats for your dwellers. So leveling up a dweller then working him out...his base hit points will be lower vs. having a charter maxed and then leveling him. IE he will ahve more hit points. Gets dull after a bit but still a good time sink.

I actually enjoy the game. To be honest it's atime waster but sometimes its nice just to sit back and hear how people think . The comedy on here though is pretty bad and has the dredges of the internet but there are times you can listen to nice debate. But the highlight of the came are all the singers. Some are really really good and they just enjoying singin. Plus their instrument playing is usually top notch. SO just like the internet, there is some good and bad. I see this game as a testing ground for comedians and singers.

I absolutely love this game and the updates make it so much better. Although not much of a overriding story, the gameplay is very smart and tactical. I like that you can customize your team and weapon types. If you have a Final fantasy tactics itch then this will do.

Please though be aware that the DLC does make the game a bit harder and it is sometimes better to be choosy on the Map you start with. As a map with long distances or without roads is not good.

I tried the free trial and was going to buy it like many others but it said I already owned it .... so the free trail actually locked out alot of people who actually wanted to buy it for $30. For the most part I love the game and was going to get it on sale. Alas it was a glitch that prevented others like myself from buying it. It was a fun game too. I guess i'll wait a bit until the steam summer sale.

If you are a fan of XCOM, Final Fatasy Tactics, Mass Effect and Squad mangement games. This game is for you. The music, animation, stroy, and gameplay of this game is top notch. Squad customization allows for changing of builds and the story is solid and heartwarming. One of the best games out there and the replay value is also very good. Nor is the game short and if you have not bought this game yet, you are missing out.
