Pros:
Combat is fluid and satisfying.
Creating a build involves meaningful choices without being overwhelming.
The Jewels system gives something to work on after crafting max gear.
Castle building is mostly intuitive and fun, and a nice break from time to time.
Art direction and world building are great. Neat to see different factions duking it out.
Progression feels better now that you get to choose which spells to unlock.
Quick stacking and "smart chests" that only take certain item types are great.

Cons:
Crafting in your base should pull resources from all available chests.
The only option for splitting items being 1/2 makes taking 1 or a specific quantity of something a pain
A few weird difficulty spikes and dips. Could just be the builds we had at the time I suppose.
The frog transform could never actually jump up any of the ledges I wanted it to (such as out of the silver mine)
Some of the stuns take control away from the player for way too long. Imo should up the damage and lower the duration.
Some of the coolest cosmetics are paid DLC

Overall it's a recommend from me. Every time I play it I pretty much binge it til I beat the game and then am sad there's not more to do.

3 hours deep and enjoying it quite a lot so far. Especially the changes to the Cast system from the first game. A few minor quirks here and there due to early access like trinkets and some blessings not having all their art yet, but doesn't lessen the experience for me.

For anyone new to HD2 the game is amazing. The recent spike in negative reviews was due to Sony requiring a PSN account for all players. An irritation to most, and a complete inability to play the game for others who live in countries where creating an account is impossible.

Due to community pressure and talks with Arrowhead (devs) this decision has been reversed, and hopefully folks will remember to switch their reviews back to positive. Til then, I'd take a look at the review history prior to a few days ago for a better picture of how fun this game is.

Solid game. Base building feels similar to Factorio, but is much more lenient. No need to ferry resources from one of your base to another, that's all done automatically (except for fluids). There's a bigger focus on exploration and combat, as well as different biomes.

The different types of enemies and environments will require you to adjust what weapons you use and how your build and power your base.

The only negative for me was being forced to use a cheat command to finish researching a particular insect, since apparently they only spawn on a map I no longer had access to.

Likes:
- Tons of replayability. Nearly 300 hours in and I'm still getting cosmetics and overlocks for my weapons.
- Fun solo player experience, with helper robot and ability to pause.
- Even MORE fun 4 player co-op experience, with one of the best communities out there (and the occasional toxic leaf-lover)
- 4 unique classes, with perks, gun mods, overlocks, different grenades... tons of customization to play what best suits you.
- Proc gen caves are unique every time, and still feel pretty fresh even after several hundred hours
- Continued development from the devs (new missions types soon)

Dislikes:
- Proc gen very rarely causes some issues with mission essential minerals getting hidden behind black ice and other things
- Occasional weird physics glitches may yeet you across the cave.
- ...can't really think of any more.

TL;DR Good solo game, good multiplayer game, good price, if you're on the fence buy it and enjoy.

Best card game I have ever played.

It's constantly being updated and balanced. A fourth character is in beta at the moment and is very fresh and new and enjoyable. Slay the Spire is a game that I will come back to in between other new releases, or any time I just want to relax after a long day of work.

If you're on the fence, and have any apetite at all for turn based card games, I promise you'll love it.

Very fun game that I blasted through in a little over a weekend. I'll list my thoughts as pros/cons since that's what's easiest to digest:

PROS:

- Spritework and skill animations looks very crisp and satisfying. Some spells remind me of Secret of Mana.
- Exploring and Secrets are very well done. Your available tools growing with your team of monsters feels good thematically
- Most monsters feel well balanced with few that feel OP or too weak to consider
- Skill tree depth and equipment allows for multiple viable "builds" per monster.
- Battles were near my level the entire playthough, and thus were never too easy that I could snooze through them.

CONS:

- The "normal" battle music got a little old after a few hours. Perhaps different battle music depending on zone?
- Unfinished, though definitely enough content for the current price.
- Limited quantities of current endgame items can lock you out of certain types of monsters if you're not careful.

All in all would definitely recommend. Will keep playing for a bit longer to get 5* on all the boss monsters and looking forward to coming back when it updates!

First game in a very long time I've 100%d. The sheer amount of possible loadouts is staggering, and even after beating every achievement I could easily keep playing just to mess around with different options. If I had one complaint it would be that the last boss is perhaps too easy, but that's nitpicking

Got it on Steam sale for $4.49 and it's an absolute steal at that price. The ship designer is very easy to use, even with making ships with complex shapes. I do wish there was some sort of mirror mode but copy/paste/flip does the trick.

Each piece of your ship that you add has mass, and you need to balance that mass with boosters, weapons, shields, generators and everything else. Sure you can build a super bulky tank, but unless you throw tons of boosters on there you're going to be slow as mollases. If your ship is light enough you can even move it around via the recoil from your weapons.

There's multiple different races each with their own weapons and quirks. Some have really fast boosters, others have nukes or multiple types of shields. Some of the races feel a bit unfinished and have rather limited options, but they're all unique nontheless.

The ship AI is well done, and they will actively dodge/retreat/engage as the situation demands. This can make chasing down half destroyed ships a bit aggravating, but it makes sense.

All in all tons of fun and would love to see a sequel.

Early Access Review
I cautiously recommend this game, if for no reason than the devolpers working through Xmas Eve and Xmas to bring us great patches that have fixed the biggest issues.

Pros:
- Beautiful game
- Meaningful attribute and skill point choices when leveling
- Realistic sailing/having to prepare prior to sailing
- Somewhat deep combat, 3+ attacks per weapon type. Blocking and dodging.
- Very active devs releasing multiple patches daily

Cons:
- Still riddled with bugs, though getting better.
- Animals rubber band around a lot, and can run right through you. Makes archery a challenge and can get you stuck in their corpses when they die
- Free respec every level and fast travel via beds somewhat mitigate the need to plan out your character or sail around.

While I definitely get why the negative reviews are here, the game is rapidly improving and I think in another month or two we'll be looking at a very solid game.
