Long and detailed campaign, superbly balanced and fiendish enemies and a well considered base / character / research and dev system. Very rewarding and atmospheric. Top 10 game.

If I were to pick ten games of all time, this would be one.

This is an absolutely demonic time sink. Fortunately it's also cursed with zero re-playability.

Thoroughly original, well polished and charming co-op / shooter. A cross between Aliens + Snow White & the 7 Dwarves (but without Snow White and if the dwarves had decided to become zero hours space mining contractors). Very nicely procedurally generated missions = good replayability. Lots of fun weapons and traversal tools and a wide range of nasties to fight.

Classic Dungeon Master for 2020. Very nicely done.

It has become clear to me over the course of 95 hours and countless post game ponderings on the porcelain that I am not a Ross Brawn. Neither am I Toto (Wolff, that is, not the purveyors of fine classic rock). An unsuccessful lovechild of Fernando Alonso and Guenther Steiner, possibly.

disappointing

Cheesy campaign storyline but the Skirmish mode can provide countless hours of amusement. Great variation of thoughtfully designed maps and well balanced factions. The large number of technology tree options provide countless possibilities for battlefield tactics and strategy.

In Skirmish mode, turn off research and nukes for a rewarding battle.

Should be renamed - Defense Grid: Time sink

Buying this piece of software has probably saved me a fortune in exotic machinery, insurance, car tax and quite possibly from being thrown down a ravine in the Peak District
