I am amending my review to a positive in light of Sony's decision to rescind the PSN account linking requirement.

The review will remain positive unless i'm given further reason to change it back - however, I will preserve this fact in the review so that any who may come across it understand there is a risk in purchasing any game published by Sony;

This game is GREAT. The community is spectacular. Arrowhead is awesome.

However; Sony will probably always remain a looming shadow. Around the start of May of 2024, after having the warning in an obfuscated location and not enforcing it for several months, Sony announced that the game would require PSN account linking to play. This is a requirement that was not front and center in the game description, and was not enforced for more than enough time for the community to get comfortable with it not being there.

After a couple days of massive review bombing, community uproar -as well as refunds, for those who were able to receive them (NOTE: This was largely for purchases where you can't sign up for a PSN account - steam did NOT stand behind anyone else's grievances.), Sony finally reversed the decision.

Buy this game, enjoy it, but don't forget who holds the cards and what they were willing to do once.

Such a disappointment. Game is lackluster compared to 2 and was unplayable for several days on release because the developers decided to make it online only so the server being down meant it couldn't even be played in single player.

Never thought i'd say this about a payday game, but I tremendously regret getting this one.

Patch 1.1 is out, and it appears that denuvo no longer loads with doom - although, it seems you still have to uninstall it yourself. Thank you to ID for being forthcoming and making things right. Classy.

Doom Eternal is rightfully lauded as one of the best entries in the franchise, doubling down on 2016's recapturing of the classic, colorful, violent aesthetic of the old doom, and taking it's fast paced, minimally interrupted action to new levels as well. The game features more cinematic and story than the previous games, but they're really only done as often as the story demands, and still maintain the spirit of Doom's story telling. The game is challenging but fun.

Live, die, live again. Worth the buy.

{OUTDATED (But left in the review for reference) A beautiful game that Bethesda has, to nobody's surprise, ruined because they believe an anti-cheat is more important than your system's safety. Don't buy Eternal until if and when it's new anti-cheat is removed.}

Early Access Review
Ratropolis is a winning combination of traditional game genres with a studio that is very motivated and clearly very proud of their work. This game is well-worth the asking price already, and the developers are still working and eagerly seeking feedback on the changes they make and the direction of their game.

Warframe is a fantastic game, and a model of what f2p should look like in the modern gaming industry. Premium currency is useful but doesn't REALLY gate anything behind a paywall, because you can earn it by selling items to players. (Yes, you need two-factor authentication to do this, but if you're going to be upset because DE expects you to safeguard your account.. Shrug!)

The game has one of the best communities out of any online game - this goes for the ingame community and it's community on twitch. You'll see bad eggs of course. It's the internet. But you'll find most players you meet to be helpful and pleasant, and DE actually takes reports of community violations quite seriously, and actions violations of it's community standards on a regular basis.

The only items ingame which you MUST purchase with money is prime access (The functional part of which is prime warframes and weapons, which can be farmed ingame) and Tennogen (Community-made cosmetic items), so no functional items have been paywalled.

Warframe has very light RNG for the genre it's in - you'll hear a lot of people complain about it, but if you've played a lot of RPGs and looter-shooters in before, you'll probably see what i mean by RNG-light when I tell you that you can obtain 95% of the game's content within a couple hours of effort at most.

Warframe is also a constantly evolving/updating game with a developer that takes a very active interest in community feedback, and constantly make changes and review older content based on the community's feedback - but they will also make changes on their own philosophy, which I think is good. Many games have been ruined their direction by trying to accomodate any community request, whether it was a good idea or not.

You'll definitely find some people who don't like the game for one reason or another. There are valid reasons, but I wouldn't trust anyone's feedback on it who hasn't opened themselves to discussion on their opinion - example being the majority of the negative reviews on the store here that have feedback on their review disabled.

The game costs a grand total of nothing, so download it and try it for yourself. The worst that can happen is you'll decide it's not your thing and have lost a little time on it at most.

A fun, complex medieval combat game with a community salty enough to do business with McDonald's.

While not a traditional Assassin's Creed game to most veterans of the franchise, Black Flag offers a lot to both long-term fans and new comers. Both the sea combat and the land combat are enjoyable.

* Pros
- Large World
- Interesting land/sea combat
- Lots of collectibles that feel meaningful
- Decent amount of customization
- Nice story

* Cons
- Ubisoft game, so your game is held to ransom behind a second account and launcher (Uplay)
- Ubisoft game, so the tasks in the different areas start to get very repetative.

Rogue legacy is a fantastic game. Unique art style, unique gameplay, well-calibrated progression.

I will say this to prospective players, based on the negative reviews;

If you don't like using or can't get a controller, you won't like the game.

If you're not too good at games and tend to learn to improve at them slowly, then this game will feel like a grind to you. A good player can progress rapidly, but otherwise RL is an unforgiving game and you'll pretty much have to grind a lot and win by outstatting enemies rather than using skill.

And with Skyrim SE now violated by creation club menu ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and me already having had to replace my SKSE and update several mods because of it, it's time to recommend against it for the same reason.

Bethesda has, basically in the small space of time since it's announced Creation Club, gone from a company that still had a great many loyal fans and eager customers to... Well. Here we are.

Bethesda - actually, more likely their publisher, Zenimax, has demonstrated an unforgivable level of cluelessness. The Bethesda uploaded announcing the creation club at E3 is sitting at 3,000 likes and *66,000* dislikes. Overwhelmingly negative feedback from the moment it was released.

They ignored this, fully releasing the feature into fallout 4, who's recent feedback went as low as 12% positive reviews.

They ignored this, releasing the same features to Skyrim SE - not long after they made the listing for the original skyrim private, so the only thing new customers will be able to find, without being linked by a friend, is the more expensive, creation-club infested Skyrim Special Edition.

This behavior is tragic mostly because it could mean the beginning of Bethesda joining companies like Konami, EA, Ubisoft and others as being expected to make bad choices, instead of being known for making relatively ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-free titles. A sad day, to be certain.

You've come a long way, Bethesda. Thank you for forcing me to update my mods to accomodate a bunch of crappy paid mods I didn't even buy.

To be clear; I think Fallout 4 is a great game. I even defended it with it's DLC and I still would, because I believe that while some of the DLC was short and low on content, it was also extremely cheap except for the full-sized ones.

The game is solid and full of a lot of pretty positive changes from previous titles, The story is interesting, and i'll go as far as to say that anyone who says your dialog choices don't matter either hasn't played Fallout 4 much, or hasn't played the previous games - because really, in all the games, you're given a number of choiches and while they generally all get a different response from NPCs, they tend to only cause one of two different possible results. This is standard in the fallout universe.

Despite my love for this game in general, I can't give Bethesda/Zenimax a recommendation as a developer/publisher anymore. Ever since the E3 announcement video for creation club, which recieved *immensely* negative criticism, Bethesda/Zenimax have been insistently pushing this Creation Club concept forward, completely ignoring the protests of their playerbase. With this action, Bethesda/Zenimax have sent a fairly clear message: "We'll push our ideas forward whether you like it or not." I can't in good conscience recommend any game that has that attitude behind it.
