It's easier getting to third base on prom night than beating Pontiff on first try.

10/10 would ditch getting the girl of my life in favor for sticking the club up Pontiffs moisty end.

I bought this game knowing pretty much nothing about it's premise, but only knowing it was a RPG and was according to a friend of mine Earthbound'ish. To a certain point it is, but I discovered it was so much more than a simple homage to Earthbound.

The game is about a human falling down to the world of monsters, who are banished after a war between humans and monsters. It's your mission to get back to the surface. That's the short summary of the story, but what makes the story and the game special is that you have two options to do it: Kill everyone or spare everyone. The fighting system when you kill is a typical rythm based attack system. If you are doing it as a pascifist, you can use certain act options according to each enemy and spare them, thus never killing them. This also affects all the boss fights in the game. How you do it is up to you.

Usually I normally end up killing enemies in games that gives me the option of either killing or spare them. In this game, I did never want to murder anyone. Not because it gives a good ending, but because the characters in the game are well written. They all have great characteristics and personalities that makes you get very attached to them. I cried both in the peace route and the genocide route for all different reasons.

Not only is the game an great emotional rollercoaster, but the different locations in the game are splendid, the comedy is quirky, weird and fun! Enemy designs are also on point and never gives you a feeling of getting stale or repetive. And the soundtrack..oh god the soundtrack is just amazing. The variety in tunes are amazing. Replayability is also huge because to get the full scoop of the story, characters and secrets, it's higly reccomended to complete the game a few types in different types of run, even though it is painfull doing the genocide run (unless you are a scumbag by nature).

By far is this my game of the year, and I doubt something else will take the throne. Toby Fox did something amazing with this. A name to follow in the future for sure.

Writing this review and hopefully make someone give this game a chance..it fills me with determination.

10/10 would get determined again

Payday 2 may have delievered the most fun co-op experience I've ever had. A game that you just can't label as a simple bank heist simulator. A great variety of missions, gear, difficulty levels, enemy types, as well as a great skill system which makes strategy a much more complex part of the game.

It's of course best played with your friends, since you can plan loadout, strategy and other minor parts of a succesfull heist on the highest difficulty level. Graphics are ok, sound and music terrific, as well as the amount of detail in the game.

The only complaint I probably got to give the game is that there's still some issues with the anti-cheat engine, since it's not uncommon to see a hacker come in the game and make som heists way too easy. But I hope that issue get's fixed soon, because otherwise this game got lots of fun and bang for the buck!

While this game does not live up to the premise of being just as scary as the first game regarding the constant terror of enemies around, this game still delievers a great and dark story filled with lots of atmosphere, great soundtrack, and the constant pressure of being followed. While you won't be scared with jumpscares often, you will still find moments where you will shake in fear. In comparison to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, this is a more story driven and atmospheric tale. If you love stories and puzzles, check it out. If you're just in to be scared by jumpscares and several enemy encounters, you should just download mods for Amnesia: The Dark Descent or buy Outlast. Still, a underrated game.
