Classic action, good twisty and turny labyrinths, and extremely meaty weapons and effects. Only downside is there's no automap and it can get easy to get lost in a few areas.

Good action, great netcode, runs surprisingly well given the density of the art style, and excellent feedbaack from the weaponry.

Classic shooter, available with both the original files for source ports and the new Kex engine as well, all expansions, "just works," and even includes the original soundtrack. If you like shooters there's literally no reason not to pick this up.

Well realized remake I prefer to the original. There are numerous improvements to the combat as well as the world design, including Xen. That said, Xen is still a slog, though not nearly as badly as before.

If you're a fan of classic shooters of the 90's you should definitely give STRAFE a try. It's not exactly like them as it is a roguelike but it ticks many of the same boxes. The action is fast and furious, the keycard hunting is minimal, and the weapons are varied. Definitely recommended.

Best game I've played in 20+ years.

It's Doom in all its gory glory. Fast paced, lengthy campaign, tons of tactical variety, scaling difficulty from very easy for newbies to tough as coffin nails for die hards. After 20+ hours already and not slowing down, this game is absolutely incredible. I had unrealistically high hopes for this being a massive fan of the originals, even still building projects with them and modding them, and id software knocked this one completely out of the park.

This is a fantastic game. If you look at it and think it might even be a little fun, get it. You will not be disappointed.

It feels very much like the classic Gauntlet games in that it has plenty of enemies, spawners, food that is needed badly, and so forth. However it's also a highly tactical game that rewards creative play. Each of the classes plays quite differently and skill with any of them can let you completely dominate enemies.

This is one my favorite games for both couch coop and over-the-Internet coop and everything inbetween thanks to drop-in/drop-out multiplayer and with the endless dungeon mode there's no reason to stop playing.

This is it, easily the best Tomb Raider game ever. It's a well-written and expertly executed story of survival, growing up, and eventually vengeance. Everything in this game is smooth from the animations to the world to the music. The combat is intense, varied, and exciting. The checkpoints are well laid out and there's always the opportunity to go back to earlier areas to dig around for more items and salvage. There's optional tombs, great voice acting, weapon upgrading, and that's JUST the single player! This is easily the best action adventure released in its year and NEEDS to be played to be believed.

This game is fantastic. Don't let its simplistic graphics fool you, this is a superbly designed fighting game. In place of complicated special moves and a constrained time limit you have very simple controls and mechanics that are combined in absolutely fascinating ways. The key to the game is very much getting into your opponent's mind and anticipating their moves. It's cheap, quick, and best of all fun for hours.
