The server issues have been mostly fixed. Still occasionally get some weirdness, usually after a game has finished, not enough to seriously impact my ability to play the game. The game's just as fun as I remember it being, and I'm glad to see that it's back.

Easily the best implementation of a speedrunning game I've ever seen.

Hi, I'll be your medic today. Breathed in toxic gas? I'll bandage that right up. Artillery shell blew your legs off? A bit of plasma will have you back on your stumps in no time. In a coma? I'll bring you back to our medical tent and turn you into a shirt for someone else to wear. Why no, I don't have a medical license, why do you ask?

Very fun game, leans tremendously towards FPS skill rather than chess skill. I suck at chess, so that's fine with me, but if you're looking for a game that balances chess skill with FPS skill this ain't it. Would help shift that a bit if the attacking piece got an advantage of some sort, give players an incentive to play the chess part more strategically. The game is definitely still in beta, physics bugs and other problems abound, but typically they only minimally interfere with the gameplay, and the netcode is shockingly solid for a game in beta. Overall, solid game.

I adored Just Cause 2 and put over 200 hours into it in an attempt to 100% it. I enjoyed Just Cause 3 and put over 50 hours into it to finish the main and side missions without bothering with collectibles or other extras. I am requesting a refund for Just Cause 4 after 2 hours of gameplay. The game is a tremendous step down from its predecessors. The core mechanic of previous games, destroying things in settlements and bases to liberate them, has been replaced with a lame global chaos meter that goes up whenever you destroy a prop or a vehicle, which I have no idea of the significance of 2 hours into the game. It no longer feels like you're genuinely driving out the enemies from their bases, you are merely doing endless escort missions until the game tells you that you've liberated the area. The devs also removed your ability to skip cutscenes, and then stacked the first two hours of the game with an intro cutscene, a cutscene to end the prologue, a cutscene when you start a mission, a cutscene to end a mission, a cutscene every time you take four steps, none of which you can skip. I'm pretty sure my first two hours of gameplay were more cutscene than game, and considering the daunting spread of mission markers across the map, I think that may be the trend for the rest of the game as well. As a devoted Just Cause 2 and 3 fan, please do not buy this game.

Pros:
Fun and gory
Good mechanics
Straightforward
Easy to learn
Intense and exciting
Very well balanced
VERY realistic

Cons:
Occational glitches
Some mechanics are strange
Zombie hitbox doesn't quite match up with character model
Server list polluted with mods and advertisement

Fun game, be cautious around zombies and with servers (unless you want inf. ammo and unlimited respawns, in which case you'll have no problem finding it). Blacklist St0rm.net servers because they make you watch ads for 40 seconds before getting into the game. Be curteous to your teammates and maybe they'll spare your life if you get infected.

8.5/10
