Extremely buggy port. Game-breaking bug prevents progress on the last mission if you get over 30 frames per second. The mouse is a simulated joystick so aiming feels absolutely awful.

One of the greatest space exploration games ever made. Not as much breadth and more arcade-y than Elite Dangerous, but an incredible game.

One of the greatest metroidvania ever created.
So much charm, well done controls/abilities/movement options, great map design, etc. If you enjoy the genre this game is a must-play.

Decently fun (if quite easy and not very deep) be-a-shark game. Reminded me of that old DOS game where you're a fish eating smaller fish to get bigger to eat bigger fish.
Unfortunately the constant teenage activist writing was incredibly annoying and had I not received this game as part of a bundle I'd have refunded it.

If you don't mind (or like) your games repeatedly parroting poorly thought out sjw activism while you're trying to chow down on some Mahi-mahi, then maybe you'd like this game more than I.

Great game, everything is done well. The gameplay, environments, bosses and enemies, the interconnected map, the weapon and movement options, the fair & satisfying combat, the secrets hidden all over. It all comes together into one fun crow game.

7/10
This game was so close to being ~8/10 amazing.
It is good and I enjoyed it, and if a zelda (world with dungeons, door keys, & ability unlocks) + dark souls (dodge/riposte the heavy damage attacks, on death you drop your currency in that spot) + mario sunshine (many movement options, jump puzzle rooms) type game sounds like your jam then you'll most likely enjoy it too. However there are just slightly too many little annoying things that hurt the experience that make clear the quality gap to the aforementioned titles.
The camera will be awkwardly clipped behind walls on rare occasion during jump puzzles, preventing you from seeing either your character or where you're jumping to. Some enemies have awkward small hitboxes, and the combat in general feels a bit unpolished. Enemy attacks sometimes don't feel quite right, with lingering hitboxes or very short animations.

Despite these shortcomings, the game is overall a satisfying combination of gameplay elements, enjoyable movement options, and an interesting and interconnected world.

Incredible continuation of the Half-Life story. A must-play for any fan of the series.
Very polished mechanics, everything feels smoother than prior VR games. Detailed and beautiful graphics, even on lower settings.

10/10, if you have an HMD then you need to play this game.

Absolutely incredible in VR. Makes you feel like a spaceship captain.
Some complain that it's "a mile wide but inch deep", however I found that it both contained quite a lot of variety in terms of what you can do (fight in wars, bounty hunt, trade for profit, mine asteroids/deep cores, back a superpower, evacuate civilians, explore the unexplored) and how far you can take them (perfect your engineered equipment for any of the above, find alien ruins for alien equipment unlocks, discover the numerous hidden engineers, improve your dogfighting skills).

Sometimes it can be slow/quiet in terms of gameplay to fly long distances, but in VR I added a desktop window to my cockpit using OpenVRDesktopDisplayPortal (the old free version of OVRDROP). This lets you have videos or streams playing in the ship while flying around space which works great.

Personally I didn't get into any group play (never did Thargoid alien encounters), I'm sure that could add a lot to this game as well but it does play great solo.

A 2d more fighting-focused Minecraft. Very fun with a lot to accomplish, create, defeat, and build.
Excellent game to play with friends too.
