Energy Beam Weapon thingy ignoring shields?
Hey man whats up with that? Is it intentional? Is it just this way because of API restrictions? Is it because the shield mod im using calls a different API function and doesnt even work with this weapon?

Im using the Energy shields mod which should (in theory) protect all connected blocks (also via connectors) from taking any form of damage. And its not some flimsy pre-school kindergarden shield, it takes 2.21GW of power and has 30 mil hitpoints.

Shielded Vengeance Drone said it dont care and just punched a hole in my base anyways. Thats the exact reason why I put a shield there in the first place. Any idea whats up with that? Im not against it taking out a capital ship with no shields in one shot, thats pretty cool, the invincibility is also pretty neat because even if you sink damage into it you gotta disable the shield first before you actually damage the drone. But flat out ignoring an entire defense mechanism is a bit much.

Thanks in advance for any help yall throwing my way. Or not, idk, just wanted to point this out, maybe my man Meridius just wasnt aware of that.

Similar experience here. Is the vengeance drone's beam currently (Apr 2023) supposed to be even remotely compatible with Defense Shields or Energy Shields? I've been tanking the beam no problem with Defense Shields for a while a couple of days ago, then the next day it keeps carving through 9 million shield points like it's hot butter, regardless of modulation/enhancement/shunting/whatever. Worse yet, it's unreliable. Sometimes I just keep tanking it with nary a flinch, the other times the reloads of the same file I just get cored.

Likewise it chews through a million or so shield points of Energy Shields.

So, what the hell? You even recommend shields in the very mod description, yet the two shield mods that there are work highly unreliably vs. the beam. So, what's the damn point in recommending it in the first place if it's not working even remotely predictably?

If it's supposed to be able to be tanked, at least make it reliable. Either that, or remove the pointless comment about shields in the mod description and outright state it's not supposed to be tankable and that a different approach should be taken. Because that kind of desinformation only produces preventable bug reports.

Also, it wouldn't make this look like a total rectum gamemaster ROCKS FALL EVERYBODY DIES move who can't even obey his own damn game rules.
