(Suggestion) MOCX soldiers as targets for dark VIP missions?
I already made a comment about this on another discussion, but I figured I could open a new discussion about it too. The discussion was about all enemies in general getting promotions, but I'll talk just about MOCX on this one to keep it simple.

The title has the main idea. Could the MOCX soldiers who you meet and fight also be made to show up as missions of their own?

I have no idea how difficult this would be to implement, but I wouldn't have dared to imagine a mod like MOCX to begin with.

I could see this working as xcom attempting to assassinate one of the highest ranking mocx troopers during a publicity campaign/public speech type thing. sounds pretty cool. Athough it would need something to destinguish it from other dark vip missions.

Or we could have mocx invade generic rebel settlements or attack xcom's regional rebels (hit'em where it hurts!). Something to make mocx seem more like an orginazation/counter terrorist unit that actually does something.

You know what? both of these would make mocx seem more involved in the war. They already have dark events, letting them do stuff is the next step.

If the MOCX soldiers would be targets of a VIP mission, they'd fight back which would make it pretty distinguished from the other VIP missions. I always felt like the normal dark VIPs were boring since they couldn't really do anything and weren't present in the game outside of the mission.

But yeah, there's plenty of potential and I like the idea of them leading retaliation missions. More offensive than defensive, they wouldn't just sit around. Resistance havens would be the most logical place for them to attack.

If they were attacking a resistance haven, they could function as a "boss pod". Since they have limited numbers there should probably be some ADVENT with them, though.
It could be it's own mission type if the player knows that there's a MOCX unit they have to face, and it could be done so that they show up as reinforcements near the end so that it really feels like the boss encounter. Maybe with additional alien reinforcements to make sure they won't be alone out there.

I guess a mission like that would technically be a mix of a haven defense and a dark VIP assassination (would capturing them even be possible?)

It would be possible, but you'd have to be willing to sacrifice your best soldier to do it during a retaliation! :)

Actually, that might be a good thing to have as a requirement to find and destory the mocx base! Capture and interrogate mocx soldier.

Reid Mocx training facility, kill all rookies and officers bonus objective is to grab camp comander for intel and lead for Mocx headquarters he will be ex special forces so will not be easy grab. If mission fail or time out mocx get additional reinforcement.
