people who are saying cba settings are not appearing read this VCOM 3.4.0
1. CBA settings for vcom will only show up IN GAME not the editor or main menu etc.

1a. You can set them to override mission and client on the server tab. (for those server owners)

1b. Server owners, if you want to set the skill and tweak the AI for your server simply load any mission on it with cba and vcom enabled on client + server and join physically in game.
then press escape and navigate to the configure addons menu and you will see vcom settings etc. Make sure you are on the "SERVER" tab and tick both override mission/client boxes. then save then press ok. Done.

Now all your missions will automatically have your tweaked AI settings with CBA.

2. FILEPATCHING must be DISABLED, or it will try and look for a user config.

3. Make sure you are using the latest version (believe it or not some were using the older versions don't ask how lol.)

where can i disable the filepatching?

Double click arma3 in steam library and the launcher appears.
Click parameters and untick the box

So does disabling file patching allow the server to overwrite the mission options?

Also filepatching is disabled but the server options don't overwrite the actual mission options, I'm playing by myself in zeus and can't edit the options via mission either because it's greyed out and Can't find the options in the eden editor but trying to edit them via the server tab while in-game doesn't seem to do anything, this same problem applies to the project-injury reaction mod too.

Using the debug console with the server exec button "isFilePatchingEnabled" returns "false" and "VCM_USECBASETTINGS" returns "true", yet VCOM does not show up in the list of addons in the CBA settings 75% of the time. It seems to be random whether it shows up or not.

Same here for our dedicated server. It was there, restarted the mission after a failure, and it was gone.

Dunno, it's worked on our server from the get go. We have it high up on the load order so it's loaded like 2nd or 3rd after CBA

Cba should always be loaded first on servers

Having the exact same problem on my dedi server. Tested it out, out of curiosity, booted and shut down the server ten times, joining fully each time, letting everything fully load, and only three out of the ten times did Vcom appear in CBA settings. Zero idea what causes it, but one indication that I have is that this issue seems to have not existed prior to changing to a dedicated server, using the in game hosting it seems to always work.

We did our dedicated server configuration over again, double checking everything. Nothing seems to be wrong and we aren't having any other issues other than VCOM settings not showing up except on the very first mission/map after a fresh server start.

Just have a cba_settings.sqf file in the mission folder and it will overrride all none server settings.

Thanks for the info.

More of a work around though. A fix would be for the issue to not occur at all. Of all the things that show up on that menu that we've used, Vcom is literally the only thing that has this issue.
