Splendid Smoke

My unit (an OPTRE unit) has run into some problems with VCom and Splendid smoke.

The issue being that AI are able to shoot through the smoke that Splendid Smoke creates. I've figured out that OPTRE is not the problem, and would like to know if anyone has any possible solutions.
