I've considered this a few times. I find menus staying open in the background to be a bit weird, as it goes against how dropdown menus work in operating systems and on websites.
At some point this was possible for COH2. As far as I can tell, it is no longer possible to order the AI to take over the local player.

When I use this mod I wanna test some stuff. But u need to be in your own territory to upgrade your units. By now you have to select every single point and change the owner. I think it would be awesome if you could change this with one button from the beginning.
