What is up with the Karl Franz start?
That first Seccecionist army!!! Can i have that instead? It is a Valiant defeat auto resolve, they have more units, they have cannons, twice your artillery. Litterally the only thing you got are Reiksguards, i would honestly rather have the crossbows than handgunners. I was looking forward to playing some Empire in the old world, but come on! That is just not fair!

I dont wanna say skill isue but its not hard to manually beat that rebel army. Reiksguards into the artillery and your handgunners will shoot down what ever they point at just leave gaps in your lines. Karl should be able to tank a unit or 2 as you blast them or drop artillery down.

it is a strong army, yes - but it is not that hard to defeat it

It is one of the tougher starting battles. I sent the Reiksguard ahead to bait out their cav so my guns could kill them. Then sent them around to take out their mortar and harass their guns. Your infantry will hold long enough against theirs and you can have your mortar target the ground to hit them while you're in combat.

The following siege is pretty easy since you can just open the gate and shoot everyone.
