TOW Bug Report Thread
Please do a quick look through The Vanilla Bug Tracker[community.creative-assembly.com] so you aren't needlessly reporting a bug here.

And please make sure you are on the latest version for both this mod AND Mixer! Steam does not always keep your local version up to date. Force it to get the latest by unsubscribing, waiting for a few seconds, and resubscribing to the mod.

If you report a bug tell me what other mods you are using and which faction you are playing. And which campaign, like the normal TOW campaign, classic campaign, etc. And if it is crashing then say exactly when it is crashing. Eg. "It crashes when loading to the main menu" or "It crashes when loading into a new singleplayer campaign".

The MacOS version of the game is sometimes (often) behind the Windows version. So basically, if you're running MacOS, say you are running MacOS. It's super important.

The best way to report a bug, if it's script-related and repeatable, is to enable script logging (it's a MCT option) and redo the action in-game. Then inside the log file, search for "ERROR", matching case. Post what it says on that line in this thread.

The actual game crash logs (from the AppData folder /The Creative Assembly/Warhammer3/crash_report/) are completely useless to me. To interpret them, it requires things that only CA has.

Things That are NOT Bugs (or maybe they are, but stop reporting them!):
  • MacOS (and Linux?) crash. Could be version related, could be some oversight in the port. Either way, I can't do anything about that.
  • Konquata's settlement building is weird. It's a vanilla bug, the settlement is that way in IE if a lizardman faction controls it...
  • Galleon's Graveyard and the Realms of Chaos are invisible when you aren't in them. This is not a bug! Why does this always get reported!?? Okay, this is disabled for now, investigating multiplayer desync, but it's still not a bug!
  • Some regions are uncolored when you are zoomed out and looking at the color overlays, like the Winds of Magic map or diplomacy overlay. This is sort of a game limitation, only 1024 settlements work. But it's more like an oversight, since the exact same "thing" works with that frontend map that shows what regions a selected lord controls. It's because CA created both a .dds and .tga file that stores the exact same info, and one works properly and one doesn't... Anyway, I've done everything I can to minimize how noticeable it is, shoving the uncolored regions to the sides of the map.

Known Bugs/TODO:
  • Some roads leading over rivers don't properly bridge the river (if there's a settlement right next to the river). This is fixable, but I'm annoyed I did this in the first place and annoyed the 6.1 patch revealed it as a problem.
  • Some desync issue with multiplayer, hopefully it's not because the map is too complex... (it probably is)
  • Some victory conditions are bad/lazy
  • Karak Eight Peaks UI can't be hovered over to see the status of your buffs/debuffs. Instead it's a global effect bundle just to the right. I'll come back to this one...
  • Lots of areas need props and other details.
  • Kho/Tze/Sla Realms of Chaos need some polish

Boris Todbringer is spawning in the south of Bretonnia (in the Grave of Cuilleux province), I think it's not supposed to be the case :)

Having the same issue here (although running a fair few mods on top). Karl is unselectable as elector count, although a hired default captain is selectable.

Might need to wipe out of successionists first perhaps

I see this was quickly hot fixed, but still not working for me.

Turn 1 - Karl Franz's portrait in the elector count tab is 'greyed' out. Recruiting any lord can fill the elector position.
Turn 2 - Karl Franz's is now 'available' to select, but as you go to drag (or click) to appoint elector position, the little window for the 'current elector' becomes locked out.

Tried with 3 different game 'versions'

1. Original personal modded selection (12ish mods including SFO etc)
2. SFO + Old World (OW) + Mixu only (still same outcome)
3. Just OW + Mixu (same outcome)

All allow for default lord appointment, just ol' Karl is unavailable.

Try resubcribing this mod, Mixu Unlocker and Mod configuration tool. Use Kaedrin's mod manager.

To not waste his time, try it with required mods only - if it happens, its likely a bug
if it works fine with only the required mods, troubleshoot on your end - see what causes the issue then post in Report Compatibility Issues Here
