Mount & Blade: Warband

The Last Days of the Third Age
[Submod] TLD Variety Pack
Based on a very old mod from the TW forums that I liked, fully updated for 3.6 and the latest (12/22/2020) nightly patch.

This adds a little more variety to TLD by editing some parties and troops. It's minor right now, but I may expand it later. Specifically I've made changes to Bandit parties to spice things up a little and give you more challenging encounters and more things to kill than just wild orcs, while remaining lore-friendly. Only modifies pre-existing Party Templates and a few unused Troops, so nothing should break and nothing weird will occur. Possibly works on existing saves.

To install, drop these .txt files into your TLD folder (manual install), or into steamapps > workshop > content > 48700 > 299974223 (Steam Workshop).

Changelist:
* Added unused Tribal Orc Chief unit to Tribal Orcs. Max 1 per party.
* Slightly increased unit numbers for most bandit parties.
* Renamed Orc Stragglers to Wild Orc Raiders. Perhaps goaded by Sauron, or maybe just by opportunity, these wild orcs have banded together under a powerful warlord. Up to ten chiefs will appear with these parties, along with up to 1 Tribal Orc Warlord and 1 Wild Troll, as well as Tribal Orcs, Tribal Orc Warriors, and Wild Goblins.
* New unit: Tribal Orc Warlord. Strongest tribal orc unit.
* Revamped Mountain Goblins. Now called Outlaws and consists of a mix of human and dwarven banditry. Preying off both sides of the war, Outlaws can be a tough fight if you're unprepared, and they don't play favorites between the West and East. These mostly spawn in the northern areas of the map, which fits the lore.
- Ruffian: basic melee enemy, has a large variety of civilian clothing and weapons.
- Poacher: basic ranged enemy, has a variety of cloaks and fur armors, uses bows or throwing weapons.
- Dwarf Brigand: a dwarf that left his homeland by choice or by force, tough melee enemy with a variety of low-level dwarf gear.
- Western Deserter: a soldier from the south who deserted his post and took his equipment with him, strong melee/ranged enemy with Gondorian gear.

From InVain:
Players should be advised that every new Steam version will likely overwrite this submod. So they should either consider switching off the automatic updates for Warband, or add your submod to a manual installation of TLD.
Nightly patches will probably overwrite this too.

Cool stuff, keep it up!

It might be hard to keep it up-to-date with the nightlies. Making it work with each new Steam Workshop version sounds more manageable to me. ;)

Also, players should be advised that every new Steam version will likely overwrite this submod. So they should either consider switching off the automatic updates for Warband, or add your submod to a manual installation of TLD.
Thank you! Couldn't do it without a great base mod.

Yeah, good idea. Not sure how many people get the Nightlies anyway. Also I'll note that it can probably overwrite it too.

Then no evil mission?

The Nazgul appearing to your character is just a sly acknowledgement that yes, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is occurring while your character does their thing.
