Also, obviously, we do not grant any support for this.
So you are probably not losing much by not being able to field Ents.
A small group of archers destroys trolls, but a small group of trolls in a big battle destroyes men.
Stop enganging them in melee... pls... pls stop... allied AI pls
As for using trolls against the enemy, if they draw fire, they are dead. If they do not draw fire, it's usually because the enemy is already engaged, so their AoE attacks end up hurting friendlies as well as enemies. And considering how much they cost, they are not worth it.
I would much rather field ten Numenorans than one troll, and the Numenorans are significantly cheaper, and one hell of a lot easier to field. And it scales even worse. Ten trolls are an unmanageable mess, while 100 Humenoran heavy horse are murder on the hoof.
I could not find an use for the trolls. You can only get one every few weeks, they cost an insane amount in wages, and it is hard to arrange the battle so that they can safely contribute.
Maybe you can get them to work, and even to be cost effective. But I doubt you can get them to be more useful than as many Numenorans as the trolls' wages can maintain.
Ok but I you keep talking about me using trolls, or the player using trolls and that was never what I was saying.
I'm talking about AI armies of Mordor with small stacks of trolls in them. Not the value ratio they provide the player.
