Mordor has the Black Gate and Minas Morgul, those are the two settlements you need to burn down to defeat it. It's written in the FAQ of the manual that the inner Mordor is not part of the actual War of the Ring. So it wouldn't make sense to have Gondor troops roaming around the place, so yeah, you can't access it.

Gotcha! So just to clear it up, once the gate is burned down, the troops can access it and attack Barad Dur? Or is burning down the gate the defeat of Mordor?

In my good playthrough I did not have to defeat Morannon nor Minas Morgul. I destroyed Mordor's last 'legion' it spawned and all of Mordor was defeated, is this a bug or intentional?

Also, the same thing happened with Isengard, I never attacked it, instead it spawned some 'legion' when it was weakened and when I fought and beat that army, all of Isen's holdings went *poof* and it was defeated entirely.

Big letdown for me.

you cant I tried to go using cheats and when i got there my character was talking to himself
