[Submod] In Vain's TLD Scene Pack
Out of support! Will be merged with the main mod.

[OSP][WB][Submod] In Vain's TLD Scene Pack

Please have a look here for a list of scenes and pictures[forums.taleworlds.com].

Just as TLD, this package is an LSP, so you're free to change, re-upload or incorporate it into other mods. You're not allowed to use it in a commercial project! Please give me some credit. :)
Keep in mind that you'll need most if not all of the TLD scene props to use these scenes. In the package, I only included those props added or modified by me.

Please be also aware that some scenes are far bigger than their original counterparts. They will all take some time to load and may or may not cause lag on older machines, althoug I tried to skimp on particle effects like smoke. For comparison: I have a low-mid-tier rig with an Intel i5 4570 and a Radeon R9 270X and all scenes run fine.

Credits

The original and current TLD team for creating and keeping alive this great mod. This OSP is also meant as a tribute to you. TLD for M&B .808 was my reason to buy this game in the first place.
Gutekfiutek for some textures I recklessly stole from his great Polished Buildings pack
Ruthven for some water particle effects[forums.taleworlds.com] which I did not yet manage to get to work properly |-)
Slawomir of Aaarrghh: OSP Map Icons Pack

Installation

Unpack the package into your TLD folder (create a backup first!), allow to overwrite.

Wow, I have to test this out. Many sieges, especially the walled settlemenths with ladders are difficult for the AI attacker to scale.. I hope your pack have made an improvement.
I do not have time to test it out now, but hopefully I will have some time over next week :)
As beautiful as it is, DO NOT INSTALL THIS. It ♥♥♥♥♥ up the AI pathfinding when sieging Minas Tirrith. It therefore becomes impossible to take, as orcs just run into walls forever.

I'm pretty sure I fixed this. Which version do you have installed?

Hi! Submod should be up-to-date, just check to download pages. :)
Where did you encounter pathfinding problems?

never mind

Yet another compatibility patch is up!

I also uploaded a small addon that turns Minas Tirith's main wall white. It's a bit crude but gets the job done.

Version 2.1b changelog:
- made compatible with nightly patch and steam version until at least 20th July 2017 (equivalent to build r2349)
- added new Hornburg landmark scene, fight a battle right outside the Hornburg to see it.
- added an option to have Minas Tirith's main wall white[/spoiler]

New version up! Again, it's just a compatibility patch, but this one brings quite a change, nonetheless, because it makes all sieges work with the overhauled TLD siege AI! Also, cutscenes work again.

Version 2.1c changelog:
- made compatible with steam version from 30th Sept 2017 (equivalent to build r2404)
- adjusted all siege scenes to work with TLD's new expanded siege AI
- made cutscenes work again
- included Lossarnach siege hotfix
- reduced fire in Minas Tirith and Dale siege scenes to improve fps
- tidied up the file structure, so we don't need a custom module.ini anymore! This should make it fully compatible with Snouz' TLD Warband Asset Pack
- removed Dol Guldur, Corsair Camp and Gundabad scenes because they're part of TLD now.

Hello InVain. Your submod looks incredible but I'm struggling to properly install it on my Mac. Would you have any tips? How exactly do I integrate it into my TLD folder? Thanks
InVain  [developer] Nov 3, 2017 @ 4:06am
Hi, thank you! I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with Macs. Generally, this submod can be installed via drag, drop and overwrite. So if you're able to locate your TLD installation (it's location may depend on whether you've installed TLD manually or via steam), you should be able to install the submod just by comparing both directories.

Maybe this helps:

Please note that I didn't yet update the submod to the latest TLD version, so the Gundabad NW outpost scene will be buggy.

Using scene pack, noticed the following (not sure if caused by vanilla or scene pack) (using asset pack as well, not sure if should report since another mod, so please ignore if you think it is an asset pack error instead):

1) Helm's deep, in one of the side paths when visiting the scene you end up on a small portion of wall, and if you walk towards the edge you end up "falling" graphic for your player without atcually falling. So basically you just are still in the air standing on the wall, with your player's arms up in the air.

2) Gondor side of osgilliath, near the smith and supply guy, if you go to the dead end path behind them, the ground slopes down but the buildings don't seem to know that, so pillars and building floors are sevral feet above the ground, floating

3) In some of the rohan battle scenes, some boulders are floating (probably not scene pack caused, just in case)

Thanks! I need to update the scene pack anyway, so I'll fix Hornburg and Osgiliath.
Battle scenes are not changed by this submod. Did you see it in one of the 'special' landmark battle fields near Edoras or Helms Deep? All others are generated by the game.

Hi InVain!

Thanks so much.

It was likely the randomly generated ones then, as nowhere near the landmarks.

It wasn't every boulder--just a few of them per battle were floating. Saw it in a couple of battles.

Guess it is a vanilla issue then. Thanks again for the wonderful scene pack!

New version uploaded. Again, mainly a compatibility patch, but I fixed the issues you reported.
