Necromancer Quest from Galadriel
First of all i want to thank you very much for the mod, i really enjoy it!!

I started a new game as Lothlorien with the war start at level 20 and try to collect all companions before it begins. I'm evading all fights when possible to aquire the least amount of xp, so my weapon proficiencies are quite low.
But now i accepted the quest to kill the Necromancer which interferes with Galadriels magic and my problem is that i can't win the final fight. I can only take my under equipped and under skilled companions with me and at the end all enemies charge at me.

Was this changed? I haven't done that quest very often but i remember it as pretty easy and that i could kill the enemies in smaller packs. Though most of the time when i was doing it, i was better skilled, character wise, and had less companions so i could take some rail gun Galadriel Archers with me. Even rearranging the order of my troops, which helped in Warband to determine which troops are ment to spawn in first in battles, does nothing. I can only choose to take my crappy companions with me or noone at all.

What makes it worse i can't do it later because of the 10 days time limit, not like the ring hunter quest given by Elrond around the same time which is really a challenge with bad troops.

So for me there are only 2 options left:
- Send all my companions away so i can choose my high level troops to come with me. (But can i rehire them afterwards and where?)

- Go into the barracks and train my weapon skills to have a bigger impact in the fight (But that will give me a lot of XP)

Any Tips?

Well, i did it but not in one of the ways i described. Sending back my companions, who return to their home town (beware when it is destroyed they are gone), wasn't much useful since it just left me with less troops. I pretty sure i once could select my regular troops to bring to the fight.

I just bought some better gear, the starting sword is really really weak, rushed in and killed as many as fast as i could and voila done. 10 damage makes quite a difference.

Btw is the damage of the Citadel sword of Gondor an oversight?
It has 39 cutting dmg with 100 speed and 96 range. Making it the best weapon overall, even beating the 2handed swords as far as i can see.

That quest is supposed to be hard. But I didn't know you were forced to bring your companions no matter what. I'll look into it.

I've also recently been correcting weapon stats that seem off, so thanks for the info.

In that case I think I should mention that the Mordor Sword and the Mordor B@stard Sword (steam, pls) seem to have switched stats, what with the first mentioned being far above many two-handers in terms of damage and range despite being one-handed.

Edit: If I can ask, is it intentional that the Corsair Assassin and Corsair Master Skirmisher don't get access to an upgraded version of the basic Corsair Bow? They're quite weak with those dinky 26 damage tickle shooters :P

Oh, we had actually fixed the Mordor swords awhile ago, but seem to have lost the fix along the way! Thanks so much for notifying!

The corsair bow has piercing damage. It's actually very strong!

Ah I didn't notice they had piercing damage, that is quite good! But when I tried out an army of them it just seemed like the Eagle Guard were outperforming them in every way. Guess I'll have to test it out on a few more pesky elves.

Eagle guard are supposed to be strong, too, and their bow is far more accurate. On the other hand, Harad's low-tier archers have weaker bows, so on average, the corsairs should field the better archers. But we might still have to finetune it, so thanks again! Remember that piercing bows only really shine against heavily armored troops.
