Harder / tougher mods with SFO?
Hi all! Is there any specific mod/mods you would recommend to make the campaign harder? Yes, harder than "very hard mode" in SFO. Thanks!

Stronger and Fairer AI adds significant buffs and makes the game a lot harder. According to the mod maker Normal difficulty is harder than Legendary in vanilla. Mostly checks out from what I've played. Haven't used it in SFO yet but it is compatible.

Yes. I tried it on Vanilla Very Hard and faced down dozens of stacks after 20 turns, it was a bad unwinnable time and I loved it. I don't really enjoy the game unless I'm facing impossible odds that either cause me to lose or hold on forever until I can sneak in a win.

Other options that are valid:
Jadawyn's Dynamic Difficulty. This one gives AI increasing buffs as your empire grows, so they snowball with you. The initial starting difficulty is lower however so if you don't want that , you can use Groovy's Mod Configuration Tool to up the bonuses at the start.

Hecleas Ultra Aggressive & Smart AI
This one does not alter bonuses, but changes tables to make AI more likely to make strategic moves.

Jadawins Unnatural Selection - Does not change AI, but gives random factions an autoresolve bonus against other factions to make each playthrough different.

These are the only ones I've used. You can use Unnatural Selection and Hecleas with the others. I would not use Dynamic Difficulty together with Stronger and Fairer AI because I think they partially overlap.

Trying my first SFO now with Stronger and Fairer now to see if it works as advertised there too.

Use SFO Mod Menu to enable Very Hard More.

Already did. Was looking for something even tougher than that. Thanks Venris.
