LWOTC 1.1.0 release date: December 16
As the title says, I'll be releasing version 1.1 on December 16 on the 2 year anniversary of the main 1.0 release on Steam. There's a lot of changes coming, including Chosen, class trees, reworked Templar, new maps, new covert ops, and more. Full List of Changes Here[docs.google.com]

If you want to keep using the current version of LWoTC, you'll want to back up the mod files before the update releases.

Common issues:

My Templar is resetting every mission! - if you're using Mod Jam, install this plugin mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3032019315

Hello !

Thank you for this patch note and for all the work you are doing. I'm thrilled to test it out (i am just reinstalling XCOM :p )

There is a bug with your link and this one should work properly: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kHAQHA7OQFqpkWfJs-sNcM3SVSxGl2xDRCU9AxyTkN4/

When it comes to the changes here are some of my comments:

- "Firestorm is now usable as a dash move, but costs two actions. Still works with Quickburn" this is an amazing buff for Technical soldiers :o

- "Roust direct burn chance changed from 20% to 75%", i did not know the chances were so low! Big buff again

- "Concussion rocket : Deals flat 2 damage, Smoke effect removed, guaranteed disorient, flat 20% stun chance" . This is nice, I never really used the concussion for the smoke, this is good for build diversity.

The changes on Chosen seems promising, I am eager to test!

I wonder what the new Templar's secondary is going to be without Ballistic Shields. Will it back to Autopistols, or is it going to be a surprise? (It will let them all Overwatch again without you needing to equip a pistol onto them if it is back to autopistols)
Tedster  [developer] Nov 21, 2023 @ 7:33pm
Templar still doesn't have a secondary, but has Iridar's Psi shield ability and Soul Shot. You can still equip a standard pistol in the pistol slot.

I wasn't expecting a response so quickly. I look forward to the next patch nevertheless, and can't wait to see what you have in store for the Templar. I personally have been theory-crafting and I'm sure you thought of this before, but what if a templar can potentially alternate between either a Ballistic Shield or a Shard Gauntlet. But if they wield the Shard Gauntlet, they get a small Aim bonus, a small bonus to Damage, and/or even a bonus to Mobility to emphasize offense and speed, while the Ballistic Shield can be for a more Defense oriented Templar. Not sure how the code of Xcom 2 will handle it, or if that's even what Pavonis Interactive even wants, but hey, just throwing that out there.

I am happy to report that the current beta runs almost perfectly on Linux. The only mission type that crashes the game for me so far are the rescue missions. Those have consistently crashed the game. Rescue Engineer or Scientist missions are OK, it's the missions to rescue Rookies or Resistance Personnel.
Considering that the last non beta release was crashing on the first mission and was unplayable, this is a great advancement.

Thank you for your wonderful mod and your work! Tell me, are there any plans to add in the second wave the possibility of random placement of perks within a specialization? This option was in the very first LW for XСom EW, as well as in the RPGO mod from Musashi. This option is really cool, because fighters are leveled up completely differently, even within the same class!

My brother in GNU, right click on your XCOM2 game in steam and tick the Compatibility checkbox and choose Proton 8.0.4. It will redownload the game as the windows version. Then follow this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2735151462 and no more crashes.

Do we need to start a new game for this? I recently started playing and haven't gotten too far so a restart isnt devastating but I wouldnt mind not restarting lol

New stuff! Fixes! QoL! *Excitement*

BTW, might I suggest, if you take suggestion ofc, consider maybe integrating the "Remove Weapon Upgrades" mod or something? It works incredibly well with the fact that one can always remove weapon upgrades in LWOTC, and would probably be a big timesaver.
FYI, it's already very compatible just turning it on.
(Probably the dev team already knows about RWU, but I figured just in case :D.)

"Dark VIPs now have Shadowstep because you’d think XCOM soldiers would be briefed to not shoot the VIP they’re trying to capture." This is hilarious.

And mostly, I wanted to say: thank you devs for making a lovely lovely mod!
(It's amazing, I can now rage with the force of a dying star against the Chosen and Lost as well! :D)

EDIT: UI bug spotted? Banish (reaper) in the abilities screen: "Each shot has 20.0000 less aim than the previous"--I don't think the dot and zeroes are intended? Also, he still has Death From Above--which I believe was patched out?--but I guess that'll change when he gets back from his mission.
Oh and; another feature that would be *amazing*: the ability to view Chosen Weaknesses and Strengths when not fighting them. I have all the memory of a goldfish, so I get confused even about which Faction they're weak to, much less all their Strengths! (Also you can't look it up on a wiki *sad*)
Thank you for your time.

@Hargeon Green I also have the UI bug with Banish. Additionally, Combat Protocol is still described as having 2 chargers per mission.

On your query re viewing the Chosen, I believe if you click the Chose icon to the left of the doom meter on the strat map that brings up the Chosen overview.

@Gerishnakov You're right! I never noticed *sweatdrop*.
Thanks bunches! :steamhappy:
Tedster  [developer] Dec 17, 2023 @ 7:49am
oh, looks like I forgot to update Combat Protocol description., and yes, I'll try to fix Banish localization too.
Also, soldiers have their tree saved when they get a class, so if you want updates, you'll want to use Respecselectedsoldier

"New Covert Op - Find a Supply Depot" - absolutely unbalanced as at now. If you get it as the first covered action (build it at 7 day on legendary) then easy farm on extremely light with total reward of 300 on black market. Maybe it can be shifted to lvl2/lvl3 covered actions to avoid this op boost.
Tedster  [developer] Dec 18, 2023 @ 5:02pm
Yeah, I locked it to level 2+ now.
