Chain-Swap duplicates new tile over old tile
Scenario
I have an artificial Meteorite sphere in my world to stop new meteorites from landing.
Due to a conflict with a different build, I plan to move the sphere to a different location.

In order to minimize "down-time", I was planning to build the new sphere out of Mud Blocks first.
Then, I would excavate the old sphere and chain-swap the Mud Blocks of the new sphere with my Meteorite.

Expected Behavior
Using Chain Swap on the Mud:
  • excavates all the Mud Blocks
  • places Meteorite in place of the Mud Blocks
  • removes 1 Meteorite from my inventory per placed tile

Detected Behavior
Using Chain Swap on the Mud:
  • excavates all the Mud Blocks
  • places Meteorite in place of the Mud Blocks
  • only removes 1 Meteorite from my inventory , effectively duplicating it

Keybinds
  • "Excavate": LeftAlt
  • "Use Item": Mouse1

Additional Notes
This may have been reported before, but duplication glitches are definitely noteworthy enough to be reposted.

On further attempts, I have realized that this only occurs when the Meteorite is "held", i.e. not actively placed in any hotbar or inventory slot.

When placed in any inventory slot mid-swap, the amount of Meteorite in that slot counts down as expected.
When "held" again, the Meteorite interrupts this countdown again.

Since the source code is not open-source yet, I cannot appropriately estimate how difficult this would be to fix, and as chain-swapping is considered an "alternative feature", it may not be as urgent as I initially thought it could be.

We are aware of issues with items in the "cursor" slot. We figured issues with it would be better than the alternative of removing the ability to use the cursor entirely, and having to do swaps from the hotbar only.

This being said, this is an issue with the mathematical logic behind placing and consuming. We are actively working on a fix for this.
