Report a translation problem
From what I've seen, it's because the mod tries to make every pawn in that caravan a trader unit, and — I'm assuming, anyway — the amount of items they carry is causing the game to freak out and crawl to a near halt.
I've yet to see it happen with any other race mods, and I've got several of them.
edit;; oops forgot to post a log! I don't believe I threw any errors in my log for these specific mods when they were the only ones used, but I'll double check and edit again once I have some time to boot up the game.

How do you mean? I have both enabled, and as far as I can tell, there's no game-crashing issues,
Then again, I've never settled in a rimcity, so who knows, might be that caravans and events never happen there, only ever raided a place like that once, I've had plenty of assassination events however in such cities, I always try to bring at least two IED's with me to such places, since making a entire Rimcity enemies with you is like being major raided plus there's enemy enplacements there depending on your other mods.
My mod list has about 70 entries so hard to determine which other mod is incompatible. xd
