The next update (today or tomorrow) the VPPNotifications mod will be mandatory.
You already can subscribe now to not be stuck when the update will be push.

2 : Entries have been added in Pvz_TheDarkHorde_Messages.c file.
You can already add them (if not added when the update will come, the server will not start)

Edit : VPPNotification mod is not required anymore
It brings a fix for missing masters (and masters stuck in walls).
No changes in profile files needed.
It will happen when the v1.08 will come to stable branch.
My new mod PvZmoD Customisable Zombies replace them.
This new mod do all what this old ones do (and lot more) but in a better way.
There is two important things to do before the 1.10 come out if you don't want to be stuck :

1 : The KEY of the mod will change. I know some admin tools automatically update the mod keys but if you don't use such tools you have to manually add the new key in your server keys folder.
You already can download the new key here[dl.free.fr] and add it to your keys folder now if you don't want to be stuck when the update will come out.
I know it sucks to have to manually do things to make a mod working but I do it now for two reasons:
First, having different keys for each of my mods is a risk because if I sign my pbo with the wrong key it can stuck the servers using my mods.
Second, there is another important modification you have to do in the profile folder to make the mod works well.

2 : In all .c files in the profile folders, you have to remplace all « ref » (at the beginning of some lines) by « ref autoptr ».
This can be easily done with search feature (ctrl-H) of text editors like notepad++ just make sure « Match whole word only » and « Match case » are both checked to avoid unwanted changes.
Or of course you can simply replace the files with the new ones when the update will come out if you didn't modified them.
Don't forget to save your files before doing this, just in case...
If you don't do this, the server will start as usual but you can have memory leaks that can lead to mods not working as attended or server performance problems (not fps related).
You can do this as soon as possible (you don't need to wait the update).

A biiig update is coming!
Lot of new features and improvements in sight, here are the main ones:
- Adding some sounds and visuals feedbacks to alert players when a horde is close to them. This is to reduce the feeling that the horde spawn on the player and attack them by surprise.
- Making the master more difficult to kill. He shouldn't run far ahead the horde anymore. If the player want to kill him he will really have to deal with the horde.
- Completely reorganizing the profile folder. The json file was become really to messy with all variables mixed. With the new profile it will be a lot more easy to tweak the horde.
The down side of all of this is that you will have to manually modify the profile folder.I publish in advance the new update here and you can find the instructions to update the profile in this preview mod description so you can make all modifications now to not be stuck the day the update really come out.
Just be aware that it is not the definitive version of this update. I at least will add coordinates for Namalsk map that should come out next week (and maybe some balance adjustments if needed, I will keep you informed in the definitive patchnote).
I hope to push the definitive version of this update at the end of next week (5 or 6 december) when I finished Namalsk stuff (and I will deactivate this preview version).
If you haven't done that when the update really comes out the Dark Horde will be deactivated.
Don't worry it should not stuck your server or bring bugs or conflict, the horde will just not spawn (and you will have a red message ingame to inform you).
Note: if you use my other PvZmoD Customisable Zombies, you need to load its new version here to avoid any conflict (and don't forget to change speed and dodge for masters, more details in instructions linked above). This mod will be updated the same day than the dark horde.
