questions answered and tips
this list of question answered list is w.i.p expect it to will grow over time from users input.

1.how do i get this mod to work????? subscribe to mod called HugsLib. your load order should be core/ HugsLib /save our ship 2. here link to HugsLib https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=818773962

2.where do I find the research? this mod has its own research tab called ship.

3.i cant find the ships walls in the build menu? in order to build ship walls or anything else ship related you have to select it in the ship build tab assuming you have to researched it first.

4 i researched eva suits but which bench do i go to craft them? the fabrication bench

5. hi what research unlocks the johnson-tan ask drive as not a specific one for it on my research tabs? he johnson-tanaka drive is no longer researchable. You need to find one through events to be able to reverse engineer it and make your own

6. is ship able to be landed on the planet once again after making it to orbit? as of nov 12,2019 you don't land the ship once in orbit you must use the shuttle at that point.

7. how do i get the ship in orbit? assuming you have all the tech and have built a fully enclosed ship with a rocket engine you go to your ship bridge and hit the take of button. PLEASE NOTE the heavier and bigger your ship is the more rocket engines and fuel you will have to build your get your ship in orbit. also tip proved by

11 will this work with my old ship that i built using save our ship reloaded mod or the older save our ship mod? no your old ships from older mods uses different things to work such as different ship walls and reactors etc etc. your going to have to build an entirely new ship. also recommend removing the older save our ship mods from your mod load order to avoid any possible conflicts.

12. Is this mod Multiplayer compatible?
The supported Mod-list spreadsheet for Multiplayer compatible https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jaDxV8F7bcz4E9zeIRmZGKuaX7d0kvWWq28aKckISaY/edit does not know this mod...... but it has been "Alleged" in the comment section of the mod that its "confirmed" to work in multiplayer.

13. my game is chugging/stuttering/freezing/ lagging/ PLEASE HELP!!!??? By default, space maps render both the map and the planet beneath it, which might strain some hardware. Disabling "Dynamic Planet Rendering" in the mod's settings makes it render the planet as a static texture, so it should be no more costly than any other map. also sub to this mod and use it https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=962732083

14. OH no that poor old trade caravan spawned in space what can i do? use your eva suit to go get the free loot for the time being till that gets fixed or just ignore the free loot.

15. How do I put animals in cryptosleep caskets? you can place animals into cryptosleep when they are anesthetized or otherwise unconscious. This is a vanilla feature. If a crittersleep casket is available, pawns will prefer it over standard cryptosleep caskets.

16. how do you control placement of where your ship will end up when its in orbit? wherever you build the first initial sections / area of your ship / station on your colony map on the planet , is where they will start at in the space area of that map in this mod.

So if you build the "control center" and launched in the lower right of your map, your space station will start in the same tile area up in space.

17. why do my guys suffer Hypoxia on the ship? you need to build life support system on your ship.

18. Do the shuttle-craft act like that transport pod mod or SRTS expanded mod ?? Also Do they have their fuel stored in them and launch without anything or do they need the pod launcher that the vanilla transport pods need? the shuttle-craft act like SRTS expanded. they can launch on their own. they store fuel in them.they do not need a "pod launcher" like vanilla transport pods.

19.Can I land SRTS Expanded ships in the shuttle bay? yes but as of nov 13,2019 once you have landed you cant take off on the SRTS expanded ship.

20. is there a way to move your main ship to space debris or do you also have to use a shuttle for that? you use a shuttle for that.

21. Can I orbit more than one ship? steam user ^5Cirno-09: tested this using dev mode and found we can't as of the current status of the mod on nov 16,2019

22. why cant put down hull plating even though i surrounded it with ship hull?
in order to successfully place hull plating the room must be empty of any furniture. once you have built all of the hull plating then you can move in your furniture.

23. are there any Compatibility patches for this mod yet? yes the patches are in the description

How do you get the fuel pods to fuel up the reactors and shuttles? step one: have stockpile created that is holding the uranium fuel pods step two: have pawn/colonist able to haul and set to haul. step three: left click colonist to select him/her then right click on the reactor then left click prioritize refueling ship fission reactor.

26.@ Despite having a comms console and multiple trade beacons on board, my ship never seems to make contact with trade ships. Is this intentional/fixable?" as of 11/16/2019 the mod does not support trade-ships in orbit but you can trade with trade-ships if you have an outpost on the planet.

276. Where do you craft uranium fuel pods ? i believe in Machining table, it's 1 steel and 5 uranium after you've research it.

28. does this mod have a discord? as of nov 17,2019 it does not i wish it did but as far as im aware of the mod author has yet to announce a discord. im sure that the day he finally does it will make life alot easier for all of us.

29.How do you move the hover mode pods without drafting them? " answer provided by steam user MADPUP " If the option to draft them is up, you can click to stop hover option on the right side of the options available. This will make the pods a simple structure similar to a table. I use minimize, so I don't know if you are able to uninstall or reinstall without it, but without it hovering I have been able to move it around similar to if I want to move a table or chair. If you draft a pod, there is some sort of unknown cool down where you are unable to undraft the pod for a period of time. It seems like something like 6-12 in game hours before a drafted pod will automatically become undrafted at which point you can turn off hover mode and begin loading it.

30. HELP!!!!!! i have trouble landing my cargo shuttle on my ship in space? " answer provided by steam user MADPUP " Your cargo bay needs to be placed in a room entirely surrounded by ship haul walls and floor and there can be no loose items on or around the cargo bay (ex steel for your last shipment cannot be in a tile on or maybe even right next to the bay. If you are using a mod like wall lights, I do not believe wall lights can be placed on either side of those walls. I was havingissues early, something that fixed my issues with being able to ship stuff to my ship was to simply build two cargo bays, remove all wall lights, and remove all storage zones immediately next to my bays.

31.Would androids from android tiers and fallout robot pack still need eva suits? yes i think so, the lack of density from space causes problems, and the 'weather' event of space changes things quitea bit. i was currently building my eva suits riot now for android tiers.

32. how do i build a shuttle,i see the transport pods and cargo pod, but no shuttle? where do i find it. do i construct it on planet or in space??? the shuttles are on the "Ship" subtab

yes they require eva suits.

34. What is the largest animal size that can fit into a crittersleep casket? . Crittersleep caskets can only fit small animals. Based on testing, it seems like any animal with a body size of 0.7 and below can fit, while any animal with a body size of 0.75 and above needs a full-sized cryptosleep casket.

TIPS !!!!!!
WARNING !!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!POSSIBLE SPOILERS DONT READ PASS THIS POINT.

1. build a simple small ship at first don't over do it. by making it very small you will only need 1 rocket engine to get to orbit.
2. in space you can raid other ships and satellites. you can use these for getting decent amount of materials.
3.you can use your space station to hide most of your wealth risk free.
4. as of 11/14/2019 Rocket engines have no use after you reached orbit and can be deconstructed after first launch to get the materials back for other construction.

@Lotus_Elise Rocket engines are only needed to reach orbit, though in a future patch they may make it so you can re-position where in orbit your station is located to reduce distance between the station and wherever you may want to send a shuttle. As far as I know, you can't land your ship once it's in orbit. It essentially becomes a space station. You;ll need to travel around the planet via shuttle.

5. when raiding other ships come heavily armed and be prepared to lose guys.

6.So here's a situation thats best avoided: Have an empty ship in orbit, and an item on the shuttle bay.

doing this will result in your ship in orbit becoming completely impossible to access because when you try to land the shuttle on the ship in orbit it will give error message saying landing bay obstructed, instead of doing the obvious thing of just flying up to the side of the ship or crushing the item.
so make sure to keep your landing bay clear of items and at least one pawn in a ejectable cryopod in the event of anything that may come up.

For those having problems with ship roofs changing to the wrong type, the mod Map Edit natively allows you to dev-create ship roofs from a build tab -you can still only build ship roofs over plating fully enclosed in the ship walls, but if you move or deconstruct something and such an enclosed area switches to having a "constructed" roof, Map Edit will allow you to change it back to a ship roof.

make a NOTE THAT NUMBER 7 has not been confirmed by me at all but "alledged" by steam user butanefireflies.

From what I've seen you can put lights and a door in shuttle bays but if one speck of blood is on the shuttle bay it won't work. Took me forever until I realized the shuttle bay wasn't in the home area for cleaning.

Quick question. I sent a raiding party to take a tanaka drive from a nearby orbiting satellite and I Killed a bunch of mechanoids and enemies in the ship, but also took some prisoners and managed to rescue some people. Thing is when it came time to leave, there was no option to load up the dead or the imprisoned onto the shuttle. I even have a "bug" where the mechanoids are still dead and show they have 0% health, but since they aren't registered as being dead my pawns still shoot them and since I'm using Combat Extended they are using precious ammo. What could be causing the issue not allowing me to load up prisoners onto the ship or them not registering as being "capturable" until they are at 0% health.

Hey, me again. With races that live for 1000's of years like Androids and "Astros" is there a way to allow them to stay out of cyro chambers and not have them die from a 5 years space flight?

not t that im aware of. im not the mod author im just a guy setting up answers and questions for everyone. but the way he has it set up they need 2 be in cryo
