bug - mechanized units and equipments

noticed a bug, my mechanized units dont want to use equipment higher than mech2. i build mech3,4,5 equipment and they just sit in the supply stockpiling...the units equip up to mech2, and i do see a couple units equipping the newer equipments, but barely any..and then just dont equip anymore. is it just me?
