Crash: Reproducible
good evening, I found a crash bug related to reactive world from my game save. Crash when (East Side of Deng?, entering Vain Area, or idle in this area). I have done 4 tests to verify this only happens with Reactive World.

Test Steps:
Just stand there, Speed 3.

Test1: Mod List = Crash after 1:10 timer.
Test2: Mod List - Reactive World = No crash after 5 minute timer
Test3: Reactive World mod = Crash after 1 minute timer
Test4: No mods = No crash after 5 minute timer

I'll grab the log tomorrow morning and investigate it, thanks.

My initial guess would be the distant towns system though. It's a vanilla crash that only affects certain users, but Reactive World makes it worse as it creates more locations that can trigger the crash.

Once I grab the log I'll be able to be sure, but the behavior you've described makes it sound like that is the problem. Unfortunately though, if it is there isn't really anything I can do, as it has its roots in a vanilla system. So the only option would be for you to disable distant towns in the options menu.

So, I was going to quickly verify your theory, but it seems the crash doesn't want to trigger again. I had moved on to continue playing a different save, and even though my test is the same as test1, its not crashing. I definitely had it narrowed down to something related to Reactive World.. An as I was typing it crashed, just took longer 4 minutes I'll try the same test but with distant towns disabled.

Disabling "Generate Distant Towns" had no effect.

Just brainstorming here and providing an alternative theory. I'm starting to see time variations on when the crash occurs. I noticed that a fight breaks out in the distance between some cannibals and another party.. There is a custom cannibal faction nest / spawn in the distance. I'm wondering if something is happening with them and the timing variations are because of the fight or different decisions the cannibals take each run.

Hmm, unfortunately nothing of note in the logs, didn't record any serious errors. And when I tested the save I got no crashes in 10+ minutes of just leaving it sitting there with the mod on.

So what I would try on your end is to verify the files using Steam, then importing the save. See if it still triggers on your end after doing those things.

It appears that importing the game resolves the issue. That leaves questions based on my early tests as to why the crash because of Reactive World mod. Then fixed after an Import even though nothing major changed in the save itself.

Regardless thanks for your help. Appreciate all your hard work into the mod.

It's possible it's just the game. I played kenshi for a week straight like it was a job and even forgot it on and paused over night one time and it never crashed.

I started a new save, changed no mods, and I've had 3 crashes in 2 days of light play.

Not saying it's this mod causing my issue. This discussion was just one of my search results. I'm gonna try importing next because that seems to fix a lot of issues.

You should post the crashdump regardless. You never know how useful they might be.
