Is it possible to save theodred

When Isengard takes the Rohan gap theodred always dies even if you get rid of grima before then is there a way to save him.

Nope. He always dies if Isengard takes the Fords (unless he's already dead due to other reasons).

I thought he survived but grima poisoned him in his sleep? It’s been a while since I read the books.
