Second Wave Options in RPGO
RPGO has Second Wave Options now!

In order to enable them mid campaign you need the mod:
Better Second Wave Mod Support

You can use these option separately or in any combination of them.
The console command RPGO_RebuildSelectedSoldierClass also supports these SWO.

Its save to enable or disable some of these option in running campaigns.

Configuration:
Setting like the number of random specs or the number of specs to pick can be changed
in the ingame mod config menu or be edited in
%Steam%\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\1280477867\Config\XComSecondWaveOptions.ini

[RPGO] Specialization Roulette: Limited number of randomized specializations on Squaddie
Soldiers start with a limited number of randomized specializations on Squaddie.
Instead of having the full set of all specializations, soldiers only get some randomly chosen on promotion to Sqaddie. Can NOT be changed in campaign.

[RPGO] Commanders Choice: Choose a limted number of specializations
On promotion to squaddie you can choose a limited number of specializations from the pool of all available specializations.
MCM Option: Random Pool - When enabled you can only choose from a limited random pool of specs instead of all available specializations. If you have the random classes swo enabled, its algorithm will be used for randomization.

[RPGO] Training Roulette: The order of perks within specializations get randomized.
Perk order in specializations is randomized with exception to perk pre-requisites. Can NOT be changed in campaign.

[RPGO] Origins: Choose the soldiers starting abilities
Instead of having all starting perks randomly rolled, you can choose a limited number of starting perks (plus some random perks if you want) on promotion to squaddie
MCM Option: Random Pools - When enabled you can only choose from a limited random pool of abilities instead of all available starting abilities.

[RPGO] Random Classes: Generates funtional random classes
On promotion to squaddie, RPGO will randomly assign a primary, a secondary and some complementary specializations for the soldier. This is recommended over Specialization Roulette if you use Weapon Restrictions as well because it will make sure your soldier will have a primary and secondary weapon category available. Can be combined with any of the other second wave options.

[RPGO] Weapon Restrictions: Specs will determine which weapons your soldiers can use
Enable this option to restrict RPGO Soldier to certain weapon categories based on their chosen specialization. Specializations will grant you access to certain weapon categories for the primary and/or secondary weapon slot. Can be combined with any of the other rpgo second wave options. With Random Classes active your soldier will only have exactly one designated primaray and one secondary specialization.

All second wave options can be combined with each other.

I don't think so, since I disabled every mod except for RPG Overhaul and the 4 required mods, and is still skips the selection screen and randomly picks 2 abilities

Did you deleted your config too and do you use the alternate mod launcher?
I am pretty sure it’s working when you only run rpgo + required mods.

I cant seem to get the combination of Commander's Choice and Training Roulette to work. Always seems to select all specializations when i get to that window.

I figured it out. You don't get the combined effect, random plus some selection, until they reach rank 2 (Corporal). You might want to mention that in the description.

Hi Musashi, what's the expected behavior if I send a soldier for retraining (using the Training Center facility)?

I have the following scenario:
- Specialization Roulette (value = 2)
- Commanders Choice (value = 1)

After sending a soldier for retraining at Sergeant rank, they came back like this:
- Kept the same squaddie perks
- The two randomized specializations (from the Specialization Roulette) were replace by new ones
- No commanders choice specialization (and there's no option for me to pick one). This means this soldier now only has 2 specializations instead of 3 total.

After having this problem, I ran the following console command to deal with the situation:

RPGO_RebuildSelectedSoldier 1 3

The following happened:
- This rebuilt my selected soldier to the same rank
- Kept the same squaddie perks
- Two new randomized specializations again (different from after retraining at the Training Center)
-Able to select commanders choice specialization

========================================

Would it make sense if you configured the "retraining" option in the Training Center facility to basically act as if I ran the following command?

RPGO_RebuildSelectedSoldier 1 [soldier's current rank]

I sent the soldier for retraining because I was not happy with the soldier's Specialization Roulette outcome. I suppose I could just keep running the console command, but I feel like I'm cheating by doing that. For now, I'll give myself a rule to only run the console command after the soldier has spent time in the Training Facility.

I am however still curious if you would consider making the Retraining function at the Training Facility basically run the same console command?

Version 0.2.7
Fixed stats were not properly reseted after training center respec
Fixed swo commanders choice screen not opening after training center respec

The issue should be fixed in the latest version @Hanter
I have a question how can I fix the randomization to be fixed on my choice on this mod
By perks and classes
I dunno if this has been addressed already, but I'm having some issues with...well more or less it auto assigns perks and classes to soldiers, when I want to pick and choose what they get. As far as I've seen, I have Commander's Choice and Origin active, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or if something needs to be tweaked on my end to fix that.

I'm getting the same bug as mknightium6, it is auto-assigning specializations to some of my soldiers but letting me pick others.
townkrier Mar 24, 2020 @ 1:17pm
It happens about 50% of the time. Every squaddie that doesn't get to pick is given Infiltrator class and abilities of Hunter's Instinct,, Slash, and Fleche.
Musashi  [developer] Mar 24, 2020 @ 1:33pm
I think you are just missing the infiltrator rpgo plugin and your rookies are indeed promoted to infiltrators rather than rpgo soldier.
townkrier Mar 24, 2020 @ 2:12pm
@Musashi that worked! Thanks for the quick response, looking forward to a new campaign with Commanders Choice!

Is there a way to get X amount of randomized specialization you can choose from (a different take away from Specialization Roulette & CC)
