Description
Next Generation Armory
Next Generation Armory is a project originally started by SonicJohnBH, with the intent to add all of the candidates from the NGSW program for the US Army.
After months of procrastination, and busy schedules preventing myself (Pred) and SonicJohnBH from continuing work, this is the re-release of the mod, with many fixes that were done, but pushes never released.

This mod currently only contains the winning rifles. But may see the other competitors rifles return in the future.

Current Contents:
  • XM7 Spear - 6.8mm Assault Rifle
  • XM7 Raptor - Short Barrel version of XM7
  • XM250 - 6.8mm Squad Automatic Rifle
  • MG338 - .338 Normal Magnum MMG
  • MK22 ASR - Multi Caliber Long Rifle
  • XM157 FC - Smart Scope (works like real FCS)
Future Additions:
  • MK22 SOCOM
  • Fully custom reload animations.

Why ACE required? / Non-ace version?
XM157 requires the ACE. It uses ACE XM157 Framework.[ace3.acemod.org]
Most weapon/ammo configs are made to be nice with ACE.
We do not recommend without ACE; it's expected performance will not be achieved.

Please note, this mod will maintain its dependency of ACE until further notice.

What is the NGSW Program?
The NGSW rifles fire in the new 6.8x51mm bullet. However each of them has different methods of making the casing and as a result their own quirks and advantages. The INSANE ballistics required by the NGSW program lead to very effective results. With an average muzzle velocity of over 3000 ft/s with a 137 grain bullet out of a roughly 13-inch barrel, it’s purpose is to be able to defeat modern body armor at extended distances. It does this with a chamber pressure of around 80,000 psi, around that of a tank-cannon.

Now what if I’m not a firearms nerd and that whole paragraph just confused me? Well, to put it in simple terms, this is a bullet that’s about halfway between the 5.56 (M4/M16) and 7.62 (SCAR-H, M14) in terms of caliber, but WAY faster than both. This is a bullet that says “well the SCAR hits hard, but the M4 is fast and accurate” and then instead of compromising it just does both of those things at the same time...twice.

Any idea why this mod makes the arsenal take forever to load the first time?

It only seems to be on the very last frame of the reload, 120 FPS to 100 FPS

MG338 seems to have LODs on the magazine itself (and nothing else), cause noticeable FPS drops when reloading the weapon
