AI Navy Generator for Random Country Placement [1.12]

Description
A mod for players who desire a more engaging naval game in modded random country placement games.
INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

Have you ever played with a random country placement mod and thought to yourself: "Man! The AI is SO BAD at creating fleets from scratch! IF ONLY THERE WAS AN EASY WAY TO SPAWN IN TONS OF SHIPS WITH THE CLICK OF A FEW BUTTONS!"?

FEATURES

Two decisions for the player:

1: Give ALL AI countries ship technology and navy xp based on the amount of dockyards under their control.

2: Instantly build up to 3 naval dockyards on every single coastal tile.


A bundle of ship-spawning scripts for the AI:

- 9 different decisions
- AI can only pick one
- number of ships and quality of ships based on dockyards + technology

INSTUCTIONS

1: First press the "Create Dockyards Everywhere" decision. Wait for one in-game hour at minimum. (The AI needs at least one dockyard to create a navy.)

2: Then press the "Give Tech Based on Dockyards" decision. (This gives the relevant countries the technology needed to create the specific ship designs described in the AI decisions.)

3: Sit back and relax as all eligible AI countries create a navy.

Known Incompatibilities

New Ship turret and slot

Using this with any mod that adds extra ship slots might break some (if not all) of my ship designs. It is highly unlikely that the mod will work perfectly with any mod that adds or removes module slots to ship hulls.

Man the Guns Expanded

Research tree overhauls and general overhauls will work as long as the vanilla files are untouched.

I've made a version of this mod that's compatible with Frigate's Content Pack . Link: AI Navy Generator (Frigate's Content Pack Version) . (note: I haven't updated this to 1.12 yet)

Known Bugs

out of the 60+ countries generating a navy, a handful or less may fail creating some or all of their ships. It is unclear why this happens, since everything seems to be in order in the code department. It shouldn't have any effect on the gameplay though. There's still at least 55+ other fleets to look out for, after all.

Do I need By Blood Alone for the carrier planes?

No. The mod checks if you have BBA, and gives you the relevant kinds of planes and plane techs.

Yes. This mod is mainly just a couple decisions and ship-creation code, the latter of which has mostly stayed unchanged since man the guns.

The mod is primarily meant to get the AI going, but I've made it so the player may benifit from the first two steps of the decision. As in, at most, you will get the very basics of ship tech.

Some codes don't have "=". (at least, "Chaser Class", "Pawn Class A"nearline:1133)
Maybe, they dont "create_equipment_variant".

@Mike thanks! I think I have a player specific cheat mod, but I don't remember it was for Vanilla+MtG or frigate's content pack. It's pretty cheat-oriented, but you *can* just only pick the weaker lootboxes

@Barry - Thank you. I have played around with the mod and I have enjoyed it. It sadly doesn ot seem to do anything for the player, but I have gotten around that by tag switching to a landlocked country to run the script, and then returning to my original nation.
Very fun so far. Thank you!

I like the variety of ship designs and classes you have come up with!

It will give the AI naval tech. You can't create ships with stuff on it if you don't have the techs, so the AI will get techs based on numbers of shipyards it has.

This will spawn capital ships, yes.

The AI will basically get one-use "loot box" decisions. Most nations will not get a big fleet, but the nations starting with 17+ dockyards get pretty strong stuff.

I don't remember if the player gets anything. I've mostly only worked on the frigate's content pack version where the player does get a couple techs, but not sure if that's the same for this version.
