Description
Welcome to Nahuel Huapi! This map was initially inspired by this song, which helped finding the location.
The map covers an area of 30x30km of the main part of the Nahuel Huapi lake, west of San Carlos De Bariloche, including the southern part of the Nahuel Huapi island.
Some of the networks follow the real paths of the roads, but I had to add some new ones (like the railway) to make the map more playable.
The shape of the terrain is the same of what you would find in real life, but I had to add a lot of erosion to cliffs and mountains, since the original heightmap was way too smooth.
In the eastern parts of the map you'll find some drier deserty areas. Although in real life the desert doesn't extend that far west, I wanted to add a bit of this biome anyways.

---- DETAILING ----

This map is quite heavy. If you have a less powerful computer and want to play the map anyways, you can try lowering to a minimum the graphic settings of the game, as well as unsubscribing a few assets from the collection. I suggest: Mountain Grass, Live Oak Tree, Large Broad Bush and the Leafy Tree Set. If that's still not enought, you can unsubscribe both rocks. This will bing the asset list down to 4 types of trees, plus the roads.
You should use Prop Anarchy and activate it before loading the save. This way every prop and tree will appear, even those in positions that the game would normally not allow.
This map uses the Aiguille Verte theme, which is strongly suggested since resources have also been used for specific detailing (like rocky beaches, muddy rivers etc.).

---- VISUAL SETTINGS ----

I have used the Relight Warm lut, along with these optional relight settings (You can change the first two, especially if you find snow too bright. The last screenshot also shows you how snow should look like):

Brightness: -0,3
Gamma: 0,3
Contrast: 0,3

Temperature: -0,3
Tint: -0,1
Everything else: 0

If you're using Ultimate Eyecandy, you can input these coordinates:
Latitude: -41 Longitude: -71
This will not only make the sun follow the real life path, but it also ensures that the southern sides of the mountains (that have more snow then the northern sides) face the opposite side of the sun.

I suggest you use Hide It! and activate Ruining: Trees and Props, and Effects: Shore Area. This will prevent water from drowning trees and forming the ruined texture along the coasats.

---- GAMEPLAY ----

There isn't a lot of space for building, the three main areas where you can build are the start square (located near the 'main' part of the map), the flattish lands in the peninsula in the north-east and a tiny peninsula in the north east (all three connected with roads, only two with rail). Therefore, I highly suggest using mods like 81 Tiles.

3 Highway Connections
2 Railway Connetions
4 Ship Routes
4 Plane Routes

---- TREES ----

I have placed 369420 trees, so you will need Unlimited Trees, Tree Anarchy or any mod that lets you have more trees than the game allows. I have put one of these mods in the one click collection above, but you can use any you prefer (remember to activate it in the content manager).
I have used 4 tree brushes: 'Temperate' brush (contains oaks, chestnuts etc. and is used in flat areas near the coast, especially near the main building locations), 'Conifer' Brush (Used mostly in the highest parts of the mountains), 'Conifer LP' Brush (same as the previous brush, but uses low poly trees. This has been used almost everywhere outside of the 25 tiles) and 'Mixed' Brush (for hills and the lower to middle parts of the mountains near the start square).
Here are the settings for each, in case you want to recreate them with the Forest Brush mod.

Hello, in the description you can find which assets you can unsubscribe. If you follow that you'll still have a map that looks quite similar but is a lot less heavy. I think there's no need for a separate version

Hi can you make a same map but without assets?
Random5  [author] May 4, 2022 @ 12:59am
Ah, mods can be weird sometimes lol

It's funny you mentioned theme mixer 2 because after investigating theme mixer 2 seems to be causing the problem for me for some reason
Random5  [author] May 3, 2022 @ 1:34pm
Thank you!
I don't know what could be causing that, but you can use theme mixer 2 to change the theme directly in-game. This way you can load Aiguille Verte (or any other theme you're subscribed to) whenever you want. If this doesn't work you may have some problems with your mods, maybe some incompatibilities that are causing issues

Hey just want to say this is now my favorite map! With that being said, I am having trouble loading the Aiguille Verte theme, which seems to not want to load. Everything is just in vanilla texture and theme editor seems to suggest that the theme is broken (no texture, empty theme). I don't know if anyone else if having the same problem. All my other maps builds and themes are working just fine and turning off all mods did not work.
