Description
Welcome to Jeneau!
For this, my first map, I have used the height map, using the amazing terrain.party[terrain.party], of Juneau, Alaska.

A review of the map can be found here. Make sure to like and subscribe to support BonBonBs fantastic work for the community.

BonBonB keeps on giving. The map is featured in the 2020 Christmas Special. Check it out with buildings!

Base info
I highly recommend Hide it! mod by Keallu, not only because it's a fantastic mod, but by activating it and hiding "Shore Areas" within the mod makes the underwater detailing the way I intended it.

The landscape have been altered quite a bit and the imported height map has merely served as inspiration.
The map has been sort of optimised for 25 tiles gameplay.

You've got quite a bit of building space withing the 25 tiles.
Large mountain ranges in the outskirts. Flat areas in the middle. A large glacier in the north east corner. Some pre made ski slopes ready to be developed.
The forested areas have been painted with ore or oil to, making the ground snow white again. The map is therefor rich in resources.

Three highway connections. One rail connection suited for cargo trains leading straight to the pre cut docks.
Also two other rail connections cutting through the center of the map and start square for passenger trains.
Three ship connections that pass just by the pre cut docks.
One single plane connection going through the map, over the sea, avoiding high peaks.

Visual
I didn't want to put any tunnels outside the 25 tiles cause they'll look weird. So, unlocking the 25 tiles, preferably using the Purchase it! mod by Keallu, will make them look like they should.

As strange as it may sound I find the Relight Warm LUT by Ronyx69, TPB and Simon Ryr, to be most suitable, and I have also used the fantastic Väterchen Frost - Winter theme map theme by hadece.

Screenshots using:
Daylight Classic - all to classic
Cubemap Replacer with the HDRI Haven Cubemap Pack 2 - Winter Lake
Sun Shafts

If you find anything wrong with the map I would really appreciate you pointing that out to me.

And you know, enjoy, Jeneau.

@AWESOME CATS
Cool!
That's it, I mean, its a game and its hard to match reality. This map is heavily altered for playability.
Personally I havent played C:S for a quite a while, I would assume there is a mod to convert it from snowfall. Unfortunately I don't know if it exist or which one it might be.

This is based on my hometown. I looked into importing the height map years ago only to discover that Cities can’t deal with the extreme elevation differences at all, so this map cannot match reality, unfortunately — everything has to be less steep or scaled inaccurately due to game limitations. Game tree limitations are also a problem for any forested map. I’d love to play with this map anyway, but i don’t have snowfall and will never get it. We don’t really get the long, snowy winters of my childhood anymore anyway. Is it possible to convert it to a summer version of this map?

Hello.
Thank you very much for positive feedback!
Relight is not required. You decide what visual mods you desire to play with.

@martha_hku
I have no plans on doing so, sorry.
Currently have one map I’m working on and like 3-4 more at an idea stage thats been roughly laid out. Quite time consuming.
The good news is thats its fairly easy for you to load the map with Next2 and upgrade the roads yourself. ;)

Can you make a next2 roads version pleez?
