Description
Short Ranged Transport Ships

These are tiered, flying ships with very specific roles. They can load people and cargo and bring it somewhere else -- potentially a very long distance, and back again. These act like drop pods, but are not one use -- when you bring it back home you choose where to land and disembark. It's a fully working flying vessel.

These vessels are expensive in materials & research, and are very late game.

  • Ships can do everything a caravan can, plus more (trading, quests, assaults, etc)
  • Command ships like you would transport pods, but they actually land and can be flown again
  • Carpeting bombing and precision strikes capable from military ships - devastating potential
  • Each ship has a specific role, from hauling, to assaulting fortifications and troop transport
  • Power plants are built into the ships, providing power when landed and connected to a conduit
  • Compatible with Rimefeller chemfuel pipes to auto refuel
  • Full mod settings page to greatly customize your personal experience
  • Easy to extend: our assembly is very dynamic, so mod authors can release entirely custom versions of their own ships, or completely change the built in ships

Realism Patch changes everything to be more expensive, pushing these ships much later in the end-game
Loading in Progress to load stuff into a caravan that's already being loaded
Old Genesis reverts the Genesis graphic to the old one

Why won't my shuttle produce power?
They must be fueled with chemfuel to produce power, and you have to connect them with power conduits. Also, make sure you've toggled it on.

How does bombing work? What kind of shells can I use?
First, you must enter the tile to bomb and scout out the location before-hand. Fill a military capable shuttle with at least 1 shell up to the ship's maximum. Any left over shells will be unloaded from the assault vessel after the bombing run is completed. Check mod settings to determine what can be dropped in a bombing run. More information

  • Multiplayer mod: You will not be able to actually load anything into the ship. It won't work. Sorry.
  • Frontier's Development Shields: The ships will not be able to land within the shield zone even if the shields are turned off. Temporarily reduce your shields to 1 radius to takeoff and land your ships.

Looking for some help (I use the 1.5 updated version but comments are disabled there I guess) When I land on a new map tile with my ship it seems to randomly deconstruct or disappear, is this just because of the spot it's randomly landing on? And am I able to adjust this or is it a mod conflict or something? Appreciate any help

It didnt work for me. When i built one ship i had only the load option and nothing else.
I cant even deconstruct it :(

Is this mod dead? I am new to game and looking for better transport mod (so I can do both transport and return). What are people using for this these days?
I've used this just fine in 1.5 for probably at least 20 hrs, and 4 of the ships.

Any chance of making it compatible with the new drop pod feature that lets you add more items to an already loaded pod? "Loading in progress" doesn't work for this anymore.

Yeah, SRTS is cool, but Vehicle Framework + Save our Ship 2 is cooler.

If you're having trouble with the options not showing up on the ship, I've found removing the Carry All framework/mods if you have them helped get it to work again.

(oops, just to clarify that... in my savegame at the time, the helicopters were the quickest way for me to transport lots of people and some needed items back and fourth between the ruins and my base, while i kept the fastest few (using i think almost all of the Giddyup mods), to run around the map avoiding the enemies, and luring them into different factions, while i brought in reinforcements, and extracting some special most needed loot on the way back etc :)
