Description
Edgecumbe River - Temperate Volcano Valley by Sidai

Putauaki (Māori: Pūtauaki; also known in English as Mount Edgecumbe) is a dacite volcanic cone in the Bay of Plenty of New Zealand. The mountain rises to 820 m above sea level, and is visible from far away within the waters of the Bay of Plenty. The last substantial volcanic eruption occurred around 300 BCE, producing a cubic kilometre of lava.

Captain James Cook named the mountain "Mount Edgecumbe" on 2 November 1769, possibly in honour of John Edgecombe, the sergeant of marines on his vessel, the Endeavour.

General notes
True to life map made using awesome Terrain Party[terrain.party]. The easiest way to get real-world height maps for Cities: Skylines.

Real World Location: No real 1:1 location this time. The map is loosely based on the geography of Southern Island of New Zealand. The volcano is actualy located on Norther Island.

Features
  • Temperate theme settled in early autum.
  • Optimized for 81 tiles gameplay.
  • All outside connections available
  • Plenty of flat space in the center of the map to build.
  • Mountains and a Volcano (Steaming and Glowing in the night!) in the background.
  • Snow on the hills and a glacier.
  • Some Custom made intersections.

It's best suited for 81 Map Tiles, these are very detailed and optimized. There is a ship route available into the river, but it is not interconnected to avoid stupid ships driving around like crazy.

Clouds and Fog Toggler:
  • Disable Clouds - ON

Daylight Classic:
  • Classic sunlight color - ON
  • Classic sunlight intensity - ON

Ultimate Eyecandy
  • Global light intensity: ~5.4
  • Ambient light intensity: ~0.95
  • LUT: Relight.Average

Relight Settings
  • Brightness: 0.95
  • Gamma: 0.95
  • Contrast: 0.95
  • Temperature: -0.5
  • Tint: 0.3
  • Sun Temperature: -0.45
  • Sun Tint: 0.5
  • Sky Temperature: -0.4
  • Sky Tint: 0.3
  • Moon Temperature: 0.45
  • Moon Tint: 0.7
  • Moon Light: 0.8
  • Twilight Tint: -0.6

Notes on map themes
I specifically designed this map for the map theme "SCT-NATURERESERVE" from Raffa. The map theme is only recommended, the map is fully playable without it.

Notes on trees
Because it's a really dense forest, i had to plopp more trees than the game allowes - ~800k instead of 250k. Because of that the Unlimited trees mod is listed as dependency.

If you don't like subscribe to the trees, grass or filler patches, they just don't appear ingame.

Notes on intersections and roads
I used the following premade intersections:

All credits go the the respective creators.

Final notes
For gameplay on all 81 tiles, please subscribe to 81 Tiles mod by BloodyPenguin.

Screenshots were taken with Daylight Classic mod by BloodyPenguin, SCT-NATURERESERVE theme and Relight.Average LUT mod by Ronyx69. Use Ultimate Eyecandy mod by Judazzz for even more options to adjust visuals to whatever you like.

Remember, if you like this map, please rate. It helps the community (and me).

This map is amazing. Only thing I dont like that much is the sweeping higway at this part of the map. Brilliant work in the end. Rating it up :)

@Wadena: no, it's not you it's the game, by default it has a very small render distance for props and trees. there are several mods to adjust this, for example: Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=625608461) , Tree LOD Fix (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1349895184) or LOD Toggler (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=561888259)

Lovely map, one of the best I've tried, but... Is it something with my setup or am I missing something? the render distance for snow, rocks and small stuff like that is really low. I have to zoom in almost all the way for it to "pop" in. I have the game on max settings and have not seen this problem on any other map. The snow looks like giant thick flakes up close and there is a small island with some sunken rocks just below the surface that from a distance looks like a tin roof until I zoom close.
I've downloaded all the themes/assets and everything is working just fine, except for this issue.
