Description
Updated June 16 2018; please see the discussions tab on the original mod page if your save file uses an older version!

An RPG Overhaul plugin for my Valkyrie class mod, adding three new specialties for your troops to choose from:
  • Guardians, who can heal without using a medikit and instantly stabilize and revive allies.
  • Battle Angels, who enhance the lethality of almost any attack XCOM soldiers can perform.
  • Valkyries, who continuously evolve their namesake ability for huge personal bonuses in combat.

If you don't know what RPGO is, you probably just want the original mod, available here.

Don't forget to disable New Promotion Screen by Default before starting your game! If you’re adding this specialization mid-game, please see the discussions tab on the original mod page for instructions on how to regenerate your soldier’s ability tree.

Detailed ability descriptions are also available at the original mod page. The following are RPGO-specific changes/mentions:
  • Healing Stream, Damage Buff, and Incision all require the GREMLIN to use.
  • Healing Stream is mutually exclusive with Medical Protocol.
  • Valkyrie and Guardian Angel are both mutually exclusive with Run and Gun.
  • Everything in the Valkyrie specialization requires the basic Valkyrie ability as a prerequisite, though they can be unlocked in any order.
  • Anesthetic requires Healing Stream as a prerequisite.
  • Swift Response and Surprising Amounts have been removed; the former is very similar to Lightning Hands and the latter is very similar to Lethal. Incision and Uninhibited, compared to the original mod, have been moved down a rank to compensate for this.

This mod will be updated as needed based off any changes I make to the original. If there are any issues, please let me know and I will try to resolve them as soon as possible.

Its prob good that the mobility buff is behind another skill or i think i'd take it on everyone

The mod has been updated! Please see the original mod page's changelog for a detailed list of what's new, and also for instructions on how to regenerate ability trees for your soldiers mid-game. (My apologies @Arcana, there actually is a way to implement new specializations mid-game with console commands.)

Unfortunately I believe that's an issue inherent to RPGO, as I've noticed almost all specialization packs have comments mentioning how the new skills fail to show up mid-game. Fresh campaigns should see them as intended.

It is possible to raise a dead SPARK if you save it's body and rebuild it. Even if it didn't directly raise them from the dead in mid-combat, it could make them gravely wounded and in need of serious bed rest.
As you said, no mods even attempt to do this AFAIK. It would be impressive.

The traits you added here are very cool. I really like the Valkyrie power-up mechanic. Unfortunately, I hate the idea of a drone healer. I'm not sure who thought that hacker and healer should be on the same class. (None of the programmers I know can even perform CPR...)

Well now that ive had a max ranked one i think it'll be goto for a Medic in the forthcoming campagins and the other perks can be regulated to subspec

It might be possible, but I don't think there's a lot of existing code that would support the implementation. Abilities that interact with dead units, like raising psi zombies, technically create new entities out of the corpse models, so I'm not sure if there's a way to actually restore a unit's former state after it's been killed. Take that with a grain of salt, though - I still have quite a ways to go in terms of experience compared to some of the other modders in the community :)

I am curious: Is it possible for an ability to restore a dead unit to life (preferably from dead to bleeding out)?
