Change your gaming experience with Novus Orbis, the mod overhaul that adds tons of features and redesigns the way we play Stellaris. The main goal originally was to remove sectors, improve ground combat, and expand the options for building up colonies. What we have today is a wide range of new content for everyone to enjoy. This mod also has many influences from the great modders in our community, please see the special thanks section for more info.

Buildings & Technologies
  • Adds a lot of new buildings! (See the included spreadsheet for tons of info)
  • Many new technologies to unlock the new Buildings and Armies
  • 4 New Capital Buildings (2 Machine Empire/ 2 Normal), increasing the tiers to allow for advanced Superplex worlds
  • 2 New Strategic Local Resources and buildings to harvest them
  • Reworked AI Weights so that the AI can make smart decisions on what buildings to use
  • Reworked some vanilla buildings for balance

Improved Ground Combat
  • 14 New Armies (8 Assault & 6 Defense)
  • Ground combat lasts longer (more realistic)
  • 3 top tiered armies for each ascension type (Biology, Synthetic, Psionic)

Government and Empire Revisions
  • Increased frequency of Pre-FTL Sentients
  • Improved AI Budgets & Threat Evaluation (Slightly more aggressive)
  • Multiple Crisis Events can trigger in a single game
  • Trade deals are now 5 to 30 years in length
  • Research Agreements now only provide 15% bonus
  • Increased cost and cooldown for moving Capital

Massive Galaxies
  • Added 4 new Galaxy Sizes and scaled existing (Epic = 2500 Stars)
  • Adjusted the galaxy types to better fit with the new sizes

Quality of Life & Balancing
  • Policy that incease Core System Count by several hundred if set, allowing full control of all planets
  • Increased allowable Tech to Research to 4 at start
  • Increased Leader Pool Size to 4
  • Xenos will migrate slightly shorter distances, keeping them within local systems more often
  • Tons of other smaller tweaks to improve gameplay and AI (See Defines to learn more)


COMPATIBILITY

IMPORTANT
The #1 cause of issues with capital buildings are that another mod overwrites the 00_buildings.txt.

Hi there,

Stellaris got a lot of changes since my last update. Because of this i have to do an complete rework. I am a family father of two lovley childs and deputy director of a mid size company. Therefor it will take time until i finish my vision of this mod.
I will release in small pieces so you dont have to wait until all is finsihed.

I hope my new version will find a good balancing.

In my new mod most of the old features will stil exist and improved.

There will be again 5 bulding tiers instead 3, some will only has 1, 2 or 3 tiers.
There will be ethos unique buildings and techs (i will use Ethos Unique Techs and Buildings again and adjust stats when needed and maybe add more tiers)
There will be improved planetary Battles. Different Defence and Assault armies and if possible other gameplay mechanics.
New Local Strategic Ressources. I will increase from 2 new to 7 for the start.
mineral, food, alloy, physics, engineering, trade value and unity.
Improved galaxy generation. There will be types with a smaller empty core. More possibiles in the future

I would love to add galaxy wonders as a new feature.
I would love to add something so some cost wont get 0 but this will depend if i find a performant way.

AI improvedment will be removed for the moment.
I will reconsider the other game changes.

Yeah thats true ... but for this mod the biggest changes was when they reworked the planets and 3.0

that's good news on that, course with the new expansion coming out in a few months or so. Stellaris will change again

Hi there thx for your questions :)
As i mentioned earlier i would love to get a new version of this mod.
Therefor i started today to rework. I finished all my game studies and got an better idea how this mod would look like in the future.

There will be more news next week ;)

I remember this mod and use to use it from time to time. Any chance this will be updated for 3.3 and all the dlc's/expansions?

I was taking a look at my 30 pages of mods that i have downloaded in the last 4 years and how could i forget about this one! Are you still planning to update it? It'd be really great!
