Correct, I beat the second map and the third did not start. Only gave me the option to beat the first and second again.
Khabul Khan after red became your enemy, only twice.
The Tamerlane one had this issue when the orange spawned on map. Reloading a previous saved game make me suspicious about the reason of random crashes.
Hulagu no problems
The Toktamysh no problems too.
The problem in the Jamuhka scenario is when red comes to help Kushluk (and they are your enemies) and later when everyone is inside Genghis Khan base. Other than that, the scenarios for me was a good challenge.
Loved your map design, objectives and the difficulty but a game that menaces to crash (probably because of all triggers it have?) is not enjoyable. I wish i could read the aftermatch description too but had to cheat.
Looking forward to your feedback. :)
I have just released the very first custom campaign for AoE II DE:
-- The Golden Horde --
Available in aok.heaven's download center now:
http://aok.heavengames.com/blacksmith/showfile.php?fileid=13375
Are we going to need the DE?
It will be a 10 scenario campaign about the Golden Horde, from the beginning until the decline.
As stated the 1st day, some things I didn't enjoy that much:
- Too many heroes to take care of, at the start where you are microing them is nice, after 1 or more hours I don't really want to take care of them.
- The lack of enemy economy, at some points I could really feel that it was just a matter of keep pushing and they will eventually crumble, i'd prefer if somehow the enemy could have some type of real economy and killing it would affect their army production.

For those who have problems winning, there is a 'repetitive' mechanic that you have to do on this campaigns:
1st secure your base/eco, with castles, you need to be able to have an untoched economy for a while
2nd produce your best unit combo, usually mangudai+rams, if you are limited to castle age add light cavs
3rd keep pushing and don't drop population, 15 stables and 5 castles are not too many.
Playability, perfect, i didn't find any problem while playing.
Balance, not the best dificult curve, clearly the hardest one is the 1st one, 4th is probably the easiest. I didn't trade in any of the scenarios and I didn't feel like i really need to, however i could see how many resources were getting tight at some point (this is good).
Creativity, we have seen many mongols campaigns but f**** it, this is brilliant and beyond any other before.
Map design, insane, everything looked 100% how i would like it to be.
Story/Instructions, the fact that's not a real campaign/one hero is something meh, but in general the history is interesting in each scenario, with a short of epic feeling and not being long.
@KasasPoxo: Ha, yes, this is a very, very questionable design choice I did there.
Just played the 3rd mission, loosing after 2 hours because i killed the enemy king is not something i liked 11.
2nd and 3rd seem easier than previous one, since it's easier to get stone enough for a castle. Once you have 2/3 castles on each side you just need to prepare the army for the attack, once again, good games :)
Thanks for your detailed feedback, I think the points you bring up make sense. The KoD was made to be challenging for very experienced players and looking back I have to admit it's a bit rough on the edges and too tedious here and there. My later works are more balanced and so will be my future projects.
I don't like the idea of having to many units to take care of, specially playing it on Steam, on one of my tries, after dealing with the two nomad trives and the chinese i was told to met with the king, however, my mangudai king decided to stop in the middle of the run and fight Kithan alone, he died, after 2/3 hours of gameplay and at a point i knew i had won.
Anyway looking good and challenging, warming up for TLK campaigns ^^
Btw any plans on doing a Teutonic vs Lithuania campaign? featuring lake Peipus battle / Tannenber or the Nordern Crusade?
The start is rough, but after one or two tries the player should learn how to deal with it, should be easier if the initial troops could be upgraded somehow, anyway i liked it.
The ending was too long, at some point i kind of feel i was just smashing troops against my enemies while constantly checking not to get defeated by a sneck attack, could be cool to add some short of fake eco for the enemies, so if you raid their farms they lose some strengh till they get up on vills again, or maybe with houses, limit the number of houses/tents they have so destroying some of them makes an impact in the game (ofc the AI should rebuild them if you don't keep preshing)
What I did was first wall off the exit of the canyon with houses. (I made my wall close to the final part of purples base) Then I put all my unites on no attack stand (to avoid accidentally killing the king) and began destroying all the production buildings and castles in purples base. The king only started to move when I was at the last part of the base so I was lucky in that. I kept making trash and rams until all buildings and unites were gone. I brought Hulagu to the flag but nothing happened because you also need to purple king. I started to delete my forward production buildings but kept my house wall intact. After deleting my buildings the king suddenly walked to the flag and I achieved my objective!
I'm not sure if I was very lucky or if this works reliable.
@bassi, thanks for the reply, should this not be fixed fairly easily? Make a task object for the king with looping on?
