Beautiful . Great concept and execution.

Very interesting! They appear to have a pattern, then not, then back again. Obviously the faith plates are slightly different from each other, or are changing in energy. Thanks!

Cool !

niceman, this map made me smile=)

Of course! This is the same experiment, but here it is adapted for parabolic movements.

That's just awesome! But i don't like how the things eventually gets to just random jumping balls. Thanks for the button by the way!

Really COOL.

That is truly awesome! :D

Awesome. Reminds me of one of my favorite things on the internet: http://whitneymusicbox.org/

COOL

Fun to watch, but it's not even a bit of a test! Also, why/how did this get tagged as "Custom Visuals" when there aren't really any?
Nightwing Sep 27, 2012 @ 9:43pm
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I got an error saying "Your system has crashed for exceeding maximum safe awesome levels."
jk. Pretty cool though!

That's great, thanks!

Hey, could you make a video of this and put it on Youtube? I'd like to share this with non-Portal players.

excellent starting point for a puzzle :))))

What, at times, resembles chaos is only a different pattern of order. Nice.
Loysen Jul 19, 2012 @ 2:09pm
GOODIE GOODIE!!. that looks amazing!
blinkpen Jul 17, 2012 @ 1:09pm
this was pretty cool man!
Warbear Jul 15, 2012 @ 10:41pm
Dude...that was AWESOME! You could turn that into a physics paper! I could just sit and watch that!

Have you seen the map called "laser show" or something? Similar concept. I did something kinda similar called "Circus", but yours is amazing.

Try mine?

I love this! it's amazing just watching how the shape transforms so complexly, but when you think of the shtrict blueprints in the PTI, it would look incredibly simple! REAL science is amazing!
pythonzen  [author] Jul 11, 2012 @ 6:35am
@Sheridan.Vespo
Brilliant idea! It's now updated with spheres and a reset button.
.sheridan .vespo Jul 1, 2012 @ 5:00am
Really fun to watch. I think spheres instead of cubes would have nicer effect though. They might keep the harmony better, which gets a little disturbed within one period. Also a reset-button would be nice!

@faith plate power discussion:
By now it is possible to adjust the power within the PTI, I know it was not before.

Looks pretty nice, i can watch at this for ever :D

beautiful

That was really elegant ^^ Maybe some cool timers could be made using that ;)

Will add it to my Map Creator Tools collection ^^

Since you are so good at making calculations, you must have a rather good understanding of hammer. I have an alteration I would like to make to one of my maps, but I don't know how to make a defective turret and make him speak a few lines when I get close to him. Could you look up my map STILL ALIVE?!? if you can help with this? Thanks.
pythonzen  [author] Jun 22, 2012 @ 7:48am
@Supreme Gamer
Let me explain. Each cube has to do X jumps in 60 seconds (for instance the first does 20 jumps, the next does 21 etc.). So I can determine the flying period for each. When the cube is propelled, it receives kinetic energy which slowly becomes potential energy when the cube gains height. Then it is just a simple free fall, and by doing the calculations, I can determine how much time it will take to touch the ground. Here are the results: this period is proportional to the initial speed (which is, in fact, the power of the faith plate). But yeah, physics stuff...
DannyVFilms Jun 22, 2012 @ 6:28am
(Calculations?) Such as...?
pythonzen  [author] Jun 21, 2012 @ 8:25am
@Supreme Gamer
Not precisely enough (had to do some pretty complicated calculation)
DannyVFilms Jun 21, 2012 @ 8:08am
You couldn't change the faith-plate's power in PeTI?
pythonzen  [author] Jun 20, 2012 @ 10:23am
@Supreme Gamer
PeTI and then Hammer just to change the faith plate's power.
DannyVFilms Jun 20, 2012 @ 8:23am
Nice job. Was that PeTI or Hammer?
