Love the idea of this mod.
If i use the standard game I will definitely use this in my survival game.

Would love this to work with other mods to be able to unlock in the game without having to place everything in order to get it.

I also like @MurderBot Ver 2.3 comment/suggestion about possibly having blocks that can not be learned. Would make for a great survival, if you had to find blocks to salvage and merge with stuff.

If you want to take the mod out of an existing save... you need to remove the whole class out of sandbox.sbc

Delete... everything between the MyObjectBuilder_SessionComponent tags... example below.

How can I remove this mod from a saved world? I did some looking through the comments and found a comment about removing <MyObjectBuilder_SessionComponent xsi:type="MyObjectBuilder_SessionComponentResearch"> from the sandbox config however when I do this it says the save is corrupt and can not load. When I restore the entry it works again. Any other tips for removing this mod from a world?

@Phoera, amazing mod, is there a way to make it so that you only learn the block you grind, in other words, if you grind a small grid, only to learn the small grid version?

Hey, very interested in this mod. Is there a quick run down on how to remove this mod's effects from a world? I've found an area i feel like sculpting in my newest world and I hadn't realized I had this mod enabled.

It would be cool if as a alternative you could place something like a research bench and feed resources to it in order to eventually learn a item rather than needing to find and grind, would be great for modded content as well. Research costs could be a multiple of the items regular component cost making it far cheaper and quicker to grind and learn

I love this mod. Will it work in non-DS multiplayer modes? I mean playing as single player via the game client but in "Online/Friends" mode without using a DS.

maybe there could be "blueprints" that once added to your inventory unlock the block to help with getting less frequently used blocks. E.G. you break into a cargo ship and you find blueprints for a modded block and a gatling gun so now oyu don't have to hope one of your mods adds those blocks to a structure in your world.

think i have found another issue. after perma death there there is no message of learning a new block even though that block does not exist in the g menu. also after perma death the toolbar is not clear as it is when i create a new game. otherwise this mod is great

@timdodd, i afraid not all so simple, i did not managed to catch issue in local DS test, will try to being some friendly modders to help.
i plan to find tome to fix it in april somewhere.

this is a brilliant idea that i have thought was missing from SE, great job. fyi going into build mode in a cockpit still allows all blocks to be built even though i haven't learnt any blocks

@Phoera I was trying to troubleshoot the multiplayer issue. Only thing I could see , without testing , is that MyAPIGateway.Session.Player.PlayerID is marked as obsolete now. Maybe changing it to IdentityId will fix the issue. Sounds too easy though :D

But I honestly don't know if it had anything to do with that mod because I've unlocked those blocks before in the same fashion with no issue what so ever. Might just have been a fluke and it was easily fixed by reloading the world, in case someone reports this issue in the future.

i tryed test version on DS, with one player it had worked.
it's same now?(start DS, join, test the mod, better on clear world)

Sorry for double post but I found something: reloading the world seems to instantly grant the proper unlocks soo....no biggy :)

Since I'm here clarification on unlocking mod blocks: the 'schematic' item should randomly unlock something for you when you use it. Either if it unlocks something that you already have unlock you get 'nothing', or it always unlocks something you haven't unlocked yet.

For mod blocks I agree that probably one of the best solutions is a 'schematic' item randomly spawning in any 'loot' container.

Talking of mod blocks I've run into some sort of bug...
I'm playing SEAMIN and I loaded in a blueprint with the ladder blocks in order to unlock them. I did this in the past and it worked but this time only 'ladder segment' unlocked. Grinding down the others doesn't seem to trigger an unlock.

I'll look more into it to try and get some details on why this happened.
