Could you Czechs stop hoarding all the amazing national focus mods and leave some for the rest of us? (Seriously though whats with all the great Czechoslovakia mods you guys get annexed so hard its not even funny anymore)
Sincerely,
a concerned member of society
@Strigon I've actually been away for the last few days so I didn't even know it was out. I'll check it out and will let you know. I'll probably take the opportunity to make a few changes so don't expect it imminently.
The best mod I have ever played. There is lots of decisions to make and it has been made just how it would have been in ww2
Great mod guys keep it up
That rather makes the assumption that you end up in the Cominterm. I will contemplate it for a future update.
I'm not sure I understand? A mutually exclusive focus to bypass the defensive focuses and remove the malus?
I actually spent a considerable amount of time contemplating that concept. Some of my difficulties however involve the fact that you have to be careful not to break the behaviour of the base game, and to scale your bonuses appropriately. For instance due to the massive malus, the industry section provides a lot of bonus for the time spent, which would be broken if you could rapidly remove the malus. A challenge for me to contemplate, I feel at this point the focus tree could use an overhaul.
I said to Dalnar I would release mine before I played his so I wouldn't be influenced by it, so now it is about time to see how he has approached things.
I'm curious, Germany should not trigger Danzig or War while still at war with you unless I have messed up somewhere.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've been playing your mod several times, and I also discussed with Dalnar about your mod.
My main issue : the "pathmaking", if it is still the same as I played, I guess that you will understand the fact you have no choice, but focusing firstly on fortifications (to get rid of the Consumer goods malus). This is not annoying, quite historical, but you should make a short focus to start the construction of the line, then players could choose more freely his/her path.
Otherwise, very nice mod ;) I usually wall up 8/10 forts on all borders (including the goddamn Polish and Hungarian) and wait for them to sacrifice to the God of Death against my walls.
Other problem : Poland should not threaten you when Germany is focusing on Danzig or War ^^ I usually don't give up Zaolzie cuz Steel + factories, so Poland gets rekt by USSR in the back :3
@Thunderspartan177 Well I hope you had fun, I don't think the AI takes being attacked very well. That big penalty to out of position divisions maybe. It reinforcing itself seems to cause it to simply not attack elsewhere.
@Hip Yeah it can be pretty brutal, and deliberately so. You may want to try a different strategy.
Bit of a bug though:
I refused to accept Munich, which promted Germany to declare war on very quickly. About a week after they declared war (but never attacked me), Moscow tells me Germany is planning on declaring war, promting me the option to either improve German relations or improve my recruitable population...to prepare for war or avoid it.
Then I was told that I was made a fool, and that Germany didn't end up attacking me (we were already at war), and that I could either declare war on Germany, or go isolationist, once again, I was already at war with Germany.
Love the mod though!
In any case the fascist tree is deep down the path of alt-history. A neighbour with a limited military who has ambitions against you would be a prime target for the first step of recreating a central European empire.
Please don't flame anyone though.
Slovakia-Hungary,Carpathian Ruthenia-Hungary and i know Czechoslovakia was power full but bitch please we were a central power and just saying:First,Second Vienna Award.
I don't mean liket this that Slovakia is a false country, yes you were an ethnic and you are you deserved it but WW1 took 2/3 of our territory so don't just capture us....we were,we are and we will be wraitful or mad about Slovakia or Ro.... but to capture us for that. NO!!!!
But I can play for my own historical country and kick German asses, so I'm not even mad.
You have two paths to fascism, one via a puppet government as a German pet. This will prevent the war with Germany, but you'll be very limited in what you can achieve without declaring war against Germany, remember that Hungary is a historical friend of Germany, and they have claims of their own. Historically they did rebel eventually, in both the Slovak and Prague uprisings but were swiftly put down.
The other is to convert to fascism normally, you'll still be on course for a conflict with Germany, however you can expand as a fascist state and attempt to form an empire of your own, and to conquer the land of the Austro-Hungarian empire while defeating Germany. Without the allies to back you up. I consider this very challenging.
The fascist approach I have planned for, but it also isn't well play-tested, so your feedback would be appreciated.
