Although this mod still works, it is severely out of date and appears to be unsupported. I elected to maintain Puppet Wargoal by creating the aptly named Puppeteer mod.

@svbowman you cannot release them and puppet them like that, some people dont have the dlc to do so.

Why not just annex them then release and puppet them from the territory menu?

You cannot update a mod unless it has the same name in the mod files as it does on steam, otherwise it will show up as not being found.

great mod could you make a mod that gives you the option to make your allies into puppets like what the nazis did for romaina and bulgary at the end of the war

Ive tried to update this but i get a message reading, the mod was not found will upload again. Instead of reuploading this mod ill suggest this, Keep using this although it says it is outdated, Infact it is not as the files edited in this mod have not changed in any patches and using this "outdated mod" will be fine. Until i find a fix.

This needs a small update :). Also If you save the game after you started a puppet war, you are not able to puppet the country you attacked.
And can you add a German localisation (not translation), so we don't get weird texts like make_pup when justifying wargoals.

Great mod but when I tried it, puppeting most of Europe as SU -to see it :p instead of annexing all of it like I always do- , it end up crashing. (because when someone got triggered a war with me, all my puppets went to war too with the windows opening and then crash)

No, it didn't work. However with a little fishing of the files I fix it to where Democratic Nations can create Puppets, and you can too if you wish. Go to "Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Hearts of Iron IV > common > ideologies" and open the file "00_ideologies" go to the democratic section of the file (should be at the top of the file), and change the line "can_puppet = no" and change it to "can_puppet = yes" and you will be golden.
