Open AoE. Open campaign menu. Go to campaign editor.
Create new campaign. Call it "Kaesong". Add the Kaesong scenario to it.
Save the new campaign. It should now be selectable from the custom campaign menu
In order to play, make a new custom campaign and add this scenario into it.
Scenario is interesting, difficult, but not unbeatable. it WILL take a few (dozen) reloads to figure it out, but to me that's a hallmark of a good AoE scenario- when it's challenging enough to make you try different things to figure out the "correct" tactics.
It's annoying that Green can actually start building a Wonder before advancing to Imperial. But it's not a deal-breaker. The main progress-stopping issue I had was the scarcity of stone- for Koreans, who are all about towers and defending, this is a major issue.
I had to go back and re-think my tactics once Chinese civil war takes a turn for the worse, as well. That was an interesting late-game challenge, afte i figured the game was almost won.
Still, this isn't that much harder than the last Mali campaign mission, and it's a very fun set-up. enjoyed it a lot.
I just made a new Campaign with the editor without using the standard game lobby and loading the scenario from there, and the ai seems to be alright
The ai is def not immobile and i cannot manage to free the villagers.
i click on the scenario game mode, i click on the scenario, and the game crashes
i click on scenario a few more times, and it still crashes every time
I am used to The Forgotten-campaigns not being playable when it comes to difficulty, but this is just 10 steps above the 2nd and 6th mission of Dracula campgain combined.
Seriously, I have put like 1050 hours in aoe2 and I played on moderate, but I couldn't even survive the first 10 minutes, with the green enemy straight heading in there and you having to hope that your chevalier guy arrives in time to slaughter them, and then later the chinese enemy absolutly destroying you with his navy and archers after he gave you trading permission -.-
I succeeded on hard by deleting the tower to get the resources and then build a stone wall behind the palisades which bought me time to deal with the first wave.
Another strategy is to retreat to your town center and lure the enemy soldiers to it while melee soldiers go around to kill the trebuchet.
It's indeed tough but that's why it's called hard. Perhaps you should try on moderate first if you haven't already. I managed to do it on hard, so it's certainly possible if you're good enough.
