This does mostly work as of 1.187.209, you just have to go into the wheel settings for each train/carriage and increase the Guide Wheel suspecnsion strength to 50-100% to get them to stick to the track better.

The Trains Kinda Fall Off Rail, Is Broken Plz Fix :D
DarkHoodness  [author] Mar 19, 2018 @ 6:05pm
This map dates from 2015 and the game devs may have changed wheel mechanics since then - I don't have a powerful enough PC to run the game and fix it, but you can still see the videos to see what once was possible. :)

Or maybe it is still possible? Why not play with the mechanics I've shown, and find out? :D

Dosn`t work the wheels slip of the track

Awesome work :O
crazydave74 Feb 15, 2017 @ 10:46am
i only just found it and it looks good but for what ever reason i cant create slopes and curved track
DarkHoodness  [author] Feb 15, 2017 @ 4:45am
@Tom - See the tutorial video I made, with the section which starts at 3 minutes, 17 seconds. https://youtu.be/4BZHMK3lGP0?t=3m17s

I'm suprised this map still appears to work considering I've not touched this game in a nearly a year. :P (Old PC can't handle it no more)
crazydave74 Feb 15, 2017 @ 2:19am
does anyone know how to build curved track?
BlindLight98 Sep 11, 2016 @ 1:02pm
STILL DON"T KNOW HOW!!! O__O
Yang Sep 10, 2016 @ 10:07pm
thx
DarkHoodness  [author] Sep 10, 2016 @ 9:54pm
@foxy101: Not until I get a PC upgrade, which won't be any time soon. Space Engineers became too demanding for my current ancient PC and won't work at a playable framerate any more.
Yang Sep 10, 2016 @ 9:32pm
when will the next update come?
BlindLight98 Aug 27, 2016 @ 11:50pm
HOW!!!! O_O

impressive...

anyone having coupler failures?
DarkHoodness  [author] Apr 21, 2016 @ 2:14pm
In creative mode, copy vehicles with CTRL+C or subscribe to the Vehicle Blueprints collection and select a blueprint from the list. Then find the orange track at the back of the depot and press CTRL+V to paste your vehicle over it.

It's explained in the track building tutorial video at 1 minute, 24 seconds:

how do i mount the trains onto the track?

DarkHoodness  [author] Apr 20, 2016 @ 1:09pm
When I was told that the map was broken a couple of weeks ago and I needed to find out what was wrong with it.
Sqweloookle Apr 20, 2016 @ 1:20am
They better. lol
When was the last time you tried? They have done many patches.
DarkHoodness  [author] Apr 19, 2016 @ 11:41am
@Sqweloookle - The lag got too much unfortunately so I stopped working on this. Perhaps I'll make a different map a bit later once SE is more optimised. Hopefully they'll have a track mechanic in vanilla by then, too. :)
Sqweloookle Apr 19, 2016 @ 10:08am
Have you updated this world's track network lately? Love to see what you have done if so.
DarkHoodness  [author] Apr 4, 2016 @ 12:19pm
@liamcarr10 - Unfortunately not. Draw distance is set to the minimum in map settings, and the planet is smaller than normal to help reduce the lag, but it's one of the reasons I stopped updating the map.
Liamcarr10 Apr 4, 2016 @ 1:34am
its awsome but it lag a bit for me any way to kill the lag?
PotentiallyDodgy Mar 20, 2016 @ 4:01pm
I LOVE IT SO MUCHHHHH
The_Skipper96 Mar 11, 2016 @ 1:21pm
This is an awesome map.
The_Skipper96 Mar 11, 2016 @ 1:10pm
@DarkHoodness - Thanks for the info.
DarkHoodness  [author] Mar 11, 2016 @ 5:22am
@TANKHUNTER96 - Patch 01.125 broke this map, but it's been fixed now. Thanks so much for Dan2D3D for the help!

Train Request
Hey it would be nice to make the Half Life 2 trains (DR1 DMU and Combine train AKA Razor Train) if you can't make the Razor Train I know why, Its to tall. But just give it a shot will ya'? Here is some Big sentences about the DR1 and pictures.

"The Train is based on the DR1 DMU railcar produced in Riga, Latvia. The DR1 and its modifications (DR1P, DR1A, etc.) are common DMU trains in post-Soviet countries (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, etc.)."

I have made a collection of all of the train parts that i have developed and made it into a guide, here it is: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=630442993

For some reason, when I try to find the map, it won't show up and when I open blueprints they won't show up. Can I get assitances?
Geon Jan 19, 2016 @ 2:15am
ok, Thanks
DarkHoodness  [author] Jan 19, 2016 @ 12:43am
@TheGeon - My ancient 5 year old rig can run this on low settings without much lag - Maybe your mistake is trying to run it on an underpowered laptop?

I've lowered the map view distance to minimum and even spawned the planet in creative with a 60 km radius and with low vegetation to reduce lag, but Space Engineers doesn't like very long rows of blocks - So there isn't more I can do about that, sorry.

Only suggestion is to try running Space Engineers in windowed mode at a lower resolution, it may help a bit.
Geon Jan 19, 2016 @ 12:12am
I get so much lag when I use this on the lowest graphics settings :( Please make a less laggy one for stuff like laptops
Laffyistired Jan 1, 2016 @ 9:56am
supper great thumbs up 100%]
Lazy Kitty Dec 19, 2015 @ 5:25am
I sort of want to try building something simillar to this now...
I wonder if I could build a trackbuilding train with a tunnel bore.
DarkHoodness  [author] Dec 10, 2015 @ 10:05am
@Sqweloookle - Yeah I parked the Skycrane drone near the spawn because of this. Use its rockets. :)
Sqweloookle Dec 10, 2015 @ 3:37am
Oh be careful people some of the Tree interfere with the track points. Alternatively use a ship to crash into the Trees and remove them that way LOL
Pez Dec 3, 2015 @ 4:19pm
Now all we need is a planet prepopulated with community made buildings, ships and trains.
DarkHoodness  [author] Dec 1, 2015 @ 8:15am
@VladHerld - Track layout is a WIP. Although there'll probably be only 5 or 6 stations maximum 'cause of SE's performance limitations on my rig.

There's nothing stopping people from building thier own layouts using the blueprints though. :) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=563424253
VladHerold Dec 1, 2015 @ 1:41am
Very few stations need more example: 20 stations
Finestien Dec 1, 2015 @ 1:39am

[UESC] Abatos Nov 28, 2015 @ 9:26pm
To make those kinds of curves in survival each segment would need to be made as a large ship and attached to either a platform or the surface with a landing gear. Or you could have the section on a rotor that would be rotated a bit to create a bit of a curve, but i'm not too sure if that would work too well. Excellent build I'm always blown away by these kinds of builds. :)
DarkHoodness  [author] Nov 28, 2015 @ 4:46pm
@Hiramas - Someone called SGT_MAJOR_FISH made a ship which laid straight sections of track, although that was pre-planets. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=515402591

I copypasta track in creative so I've not seen the point in trying this myself. If the train system worked properly in survival it'd be feasible, but I'd wonder how you'd craft curves and slopes. (Feel free to experiment if you want. :) )
Capybellie Nov 28, 2015 @ 4:02pm
I am thinking about refitting one of these into a mining vehicle that just welds new track in the front. Have you tried something like this?
MacGeifer Nov 27, 2015 @ 7:19am
lol...good job dude;)
