@goldphoenix, the mod is old enough that Steam archives it under its legacy mod handling system. Its a zip file.

As well, I see you have already published a duplicate of the mod without authors express given permission to do so, which is a violation of Steam rules, DMCA and Copyright.

I am trying to locate the mod's folder to modify it for my server(Links will of course, as always be provided). However to my surprise i do not find a data folder etc all i find is a bin file?

Anyone else experiencing the jump aborted error due to distance being too short? Seems to be a common issue with all small ship jump drive mods. Trying to find a working one.

I removed Small Ship MEGA modpack because it is just ridiculous with those block sizes and most blocks from it have better alternatives, so I'll take THIS mod for jump drive. Keep up a good work.

I found a fix. It seems there is a bug whereas sometimes the Jump Drive does not function properly like in this scenario. I found on a forum post someone said to delete the cockpit and readd it to address the issue.

After having deleted my cockpit and readded it, the Jump Drive works properly. However, due to my inclusion of the Small Ship Mega Mod, I have removed your mod as it is redundant.

Well if you depend on it that much I would suggest the "small ship mega mod pack". It adds the small ship jump drives with different stats and the updated model aswell as a lot more stuff for small ships. I basically made this mod because the small ship mega mod pack wasn't compatible with some other mods I had by the time it came out, but I'm pretty sure that's fixed and because I wanted different stats. You could also try my 10 or 5 minute charge verison and see if they do the same (which they should, because only the stats are different, but it might be worth a try).

My ship is about 34kg unloaded. Basically the total size is that of about 3 small cockpits. I'll have time Thursday to do it most likely. I can post my findings for you as well then for you to see for yourself. I know it may seem kinda silly to go to so much trouble for a single mod, but it's is somewhat critical to the design of the ship, and it did work a couple days ago.

I just remembered that there is a max jump mass of 12500 tons. Make sure you don't exceed that. I don't really know if it'll throw an error if you do so or not.

I am having the same problem as chris.moore with not being able to Jump with my Jump Drive on a small ship. It worked fine a couple days ago on two other ships, but when I play today making a new ship, it now will not jump even if at max power.

I made a blueprint of my ship, copy/pasted it, removed the drive and added a new, removed all other mods, put your mod as the last in the list, and the first in the list. None of the things worked.

I don't have the time right this moment to do so, but I will run a stripped version of th egame on a drive/cockpit setup like you suggested to test it again. I'll let you know what the results are from there.

The only other jump drive mod I have is one that I made and keep locally (in the past the two have never caused an issue like this.)

Any other mods enabled, which add jumpdrives? If not try it in an empty world with just some powerblocks a cockpit and the jumpdrive.

It does not work for me. The ownership is set to "Me" and its not grouped, and its on my hotbar as "Jump". any ideas as to how I can fix this. This makes my long range strike fighter possible.

I'm sorry but I have no idea then. I just jumped between 4 locations more than 20 times without any issues in an online game. Nobody else seems to have this problem either, or im sure they would have reported it here. What kind of server is it? A dedicated server? Or are you hosting from your local client? Or is a friend of yours hosting from his pc? If so there are a lot of desync issues in the game, which may or may not cause your problem. I can't really help you with the information you are giving me. Maybe record what happens and upload it to youtube and I'll see if I can find anything.

we're on stable build. Tested it with just this mod itself on MP and it does the same thing, half the time it does the jump animation, but you don't move.

What build are you using (stable build or experimental)? I'm on stable build and works totally fine for me. It also uses the exact same code, which the large ship jump drive uses. It might be an incompatability with another mod you have installed.

there is an issue with the drive where if you jump and it says there is no obstacle, it shows the jump animation, but doesn't actually move at all.

I've been thinking of trying my hand at tweaking a jump drive for our MP server. I'd like to limit them to much shorter range for practical purposes, like 200km instead of 2000km. Am I in over my head in terms of the difficulty of this?

Alright, there you guys go. I uploaded two more versions. One with 10 and one with 5 minutes charge time. I thought of making it a mod pack, but there are servers using it, so it would have dumb. Having more than one of these mods active in one savegame is not recommended. Have fun using it. :D:

while that would be great i think 10mins might still be a tad too much
currently yours give us a distance to recharge ration of 100km/20min
while the vannila for large ships gives 400/6min
im not asking for 100km/2min but maybe more like 100km/5min or something
i know its supposed to be balanced, so maybe keep the current version of it for people that like balanced and then make a functional version for people that want to be able to go from A to B withing a reasonable amount of time

would be real great if the recharge time could be reduced 20mins is along time to wait when traveling between planets since its already for the most part half everything that the large ship version is maybe the recharge time should reflect on that too

20 minutes is a heafty wait time for the recharge, especially with planets so far apart. I understand the intent was to rely on larger ships, but I've _never_ had any luck docking ships inside large ships and not have horrific things happen.
